Infotainment Screen Replacement

Featured Replies

Hi all,

After some advice, my infotainmnet touch screen has a mind of its own during colder/damper conditions. This is the second Autumn/Winter its done it. I don't really want to splash out on a an upgrade, just want to fix it as cheaply as possible.

If I buy a second hand genuine screen (with some guarantee) is it as simple as just plug and play or is any coding required?

Thanks in advance

The screen is just that, a screen, so there is no coding or modification needed IF you buy the exact same part number.

You don't say what infotainment you have or what year your Octavia is, there may be other screens that will work but without knowing what you have it's not possible to advise further.

Thanks for the reply Dave, It's a 2015 Octavia Scout. I'm not sure what infotainment system I have though

2015 is tricky, early one have a MIB1 version but later ones have a MIB2 version. Do you know what month yours was built?

Do you have sat nav? If you do does an SD card have to be inserted for maps to work?

I don't know what month it was built but it does have sat nav which requires an SD card inserting into unit behind the glove box

So that's an Amundsen system, but could be a MIB1 or a MIB2 - I'm not sure how to tell which but I know a man who does @pab567
