Matrix Headlights Question

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I purchased a Monte Carlo earlier this year that has LED Matrix Headlights. I've been to two dealers to ask this question and I cannot get an answer, so hoping someone here can help.

If I have the light switch on Auto how can I have a "Normal" high beam without Matrix and how can I change that to a high beam WITH the Matrix feature?

I know it can be done as I've watched YT showing the difference, but none show what happens to change the modes.

Any help much appreciated,

Greg

I have a 2025 Kamiq Monte Carlo equipped with matrix headlights.

As far as I can see, if you have the headlight switch (on the lower right dashboard) set to "Auto" then when you push the lighting stalk on the steering column forward you get the matrix feature. I do not think there is a way to get normal high beam with the switch in the "Auto" position. If you want to use the headlights to get normal dip and normal high beam (by using the stalk) then I think you need to select the headlight setting on the switch and not the auto setting.

If anyone knows anything different, I would be interested to know.

In the handbook for my 2025 Karoq Sportline it says

The Dynamic Light Assist can be activated or deactivated in the Infotainment system menu

I think this is my answer. However I'm confused by the last statement in the manual regarding conditions that must be satisfied for it to work.

Does it mean there is no need to press the lighting stalk forward for it to automatically switch to the main/high beam? If so, what happens if you do press the lighting stalk forward?

Thanks for your input.

This is how mine works

Sorry for being a noob, however I'm still confused.

"Push the lever in the direction of the arrow" Does it mean matrix is in operation if enabled in the Infotainment system menu?

"If the assistant automatically...". Does it mean matrix is in operation if enabled in the Infotainment system menu? I assume this happens with low beam ON. Yes/No?

Once again, thanks for your input.

If it is switched on in the infotainment system menu when the lights are in auto mode then by pushing the lever forward in the direction of the arrow the the matrix is in operation, it does require the ambient light level to be low to work properly .

I found that the owner’s manual described the operation quite well
