I wanted to tow my son's car and got my tow eye out of the boot. It was the wrong model.

I found 1T0805615A. It was too small and I called the local dealer. I was told I should have 8K0805615A. I called the dealer I bought the car from and emailed but did not get a reply back.....

I looked on Ebay and have seen 8K0805615 and 8K0805615A.

Does anyone know if these are the same?

Usually the VAG group adds a suffix to differentiate successive versions of the same part/component, however this does not imply they are compatible. For example, a mirror switch might be "A" for normal el mirrors, "B" for folding el mirrors, "C" for folding + mem el mirrors, and so in.

The 1T part should be the small eye, which is according to the parts' catalogue, a Superb II part, whereas you should have the "long" towing eye ...

If someone can measure it, I have no access to my car presently, I think you will find the difference, nevertheless at equal options, I would get the "A" suffix and not suffer too much ...

They won't be the same, or they wouldn't have identical part numbers apart from the suffix.

Don't know what the difference is though.

Partslink24 lists only the 8K0805615A for a 2023 Superb, even if I search for 8K0805615 without the 'A'.

Tow eye that came with my 2017 Superb....
