New Member with a few questions, sorry!

As stated newbie member with a few questions. Sorry if these are all old hat.

Car is an 19 plate Octavia hatch 2.0TSI SE L 7 speed DSG. 58,000 miles

1). No under bonnet sound deadening. Should it have some?

2). Rear washer not working but wiper is. Seems like a commonish problem, is there a how to guide to getting it working?

3). What oil grade to use? Seems like only 0-20W LL is recommended for this engine, this seems a bit overkill when I always change my oil every year regardless and only average around 7000 miles a year. Is there a better or more suitable alternative?

4). I usually use super unleaded (mainly Esso), is this pointless when it only recommends 95 RON?

5). I'm planning on getting the DSG oil and filter changed at 60k and then every 40k afterwards, does this seem sensible?

6). What mileage intervals should the spark plugs be changed at?

7). Has anyone with the same engine had their car re-mapped, if so would you recommend it? What problems could it cause with the reliability of the DSG box?

8). Any recommended online suppliers of genuine parts?

Massive thanks for any help on all or any of this. Cheers

1) No, the under bonnet sound deadening is only fitted to diesel versions.

4) I have a 1.8TSI (also the EA888 engine) and use 95RON most of the time, maybe once every 3 months or so I fill with 98RON.

No retailers sell 98 ron in the UK, the E5 Super Unleaded is 97 or 98 ron minimum. It is not recommended 95 ron in the UK, it is a Minimum of 95 ron for the car, that is E10 in the UK. ESSO Super Unleaded is 99 ron Min in the UK. Not all is the same all around the UK, most regions are supplied / produced by Greenergy and distributed, and some are regions get it produced by ESSO. @OctoParrot What oil would you use then, non Long Life, VW502 00 5w 40 FS, or still long life but VW504 00 / 507 00, 0w 30 FS III or 5w 30 FS III? .............Best discuss with the remapper the Spark Plugs, Filter and any service items to do before remapping and if they have a DSG mapping. Dyno before with the plugs and fuel you will use and after the mapping.

Our 1.5tsi have it from Factory

The bonnet sounds deadening material is available from the original supplier in (I think) Latvia. They aren't expensive and the kit comes with all the clips needed to secure the material to the underside of the bonnet. Its odd; my car (one of the last MK3.5's L&K's ) was a COVID car and never came with the part; so it was retrofitted by me.

Owners in the UK have posted here that their 1.5TSI did not have the sound insulation, so maybe it's market related?

Neither my 2015 1.4TSI nor my 2016 1.8TSI ha the sound insulation, so I added it to both.

My understanding is that it is only fitted when needed to pass the drive-by noise tests.

in the UK you don't get sound insulation under the bonnet because the sounds of crashing about on our rubbish roads means you cannot hear the engine anyway😄
