Best Part Number finder?

Featured Replies

Hi All, now I'm looking to research and buy the parts needed for my son's Felicia, and having looked back into old posts, I see that the previous sites mentioned are no longer working (vagfans, partscat....) - is there one that currently works?

here are 5 different parts for the front door strip

No, the front door has 1 and the rear 1, the front fender has 1.

Yes, but each strip is numbered for the corresponding location - #1 for the front doors, #2 for the rear doors, and #3 for the front wings. So, if we take #1 for the front doors as an example (and assuming that the strips are the same for left and right doors), the diagram shows 4 part numbers for 'Protective strip for door' and 2 part numbers for 'Cover for door'. So I don't know which ones to look for, in order to buy for the car.

Show me by the numbers of the below picture which stripe you want, i will search for the part code.

Forget the ETKA (7zap) number, tell me from my picture only.

Thank you 😀 I need the following;

2 and 3 (left side)

1 (right side)

2 (right side)

I have mentioned which side of the car they are needed, because the one strip that is fitted to the right side rear door does appear to have an irregular chamfer at the rear side, which I think means that it could not be fitted to the left rear door.

No idea, one of the previous owners - but what are you referring to? 🙂

A good idea to know where to find the information about cosmetics for the future but there are other priorities now and for a good while yet.

Thanks D!

Perhaps previous people driving, storing or working on the car had an accident(s), or were idiots that caused the accident(s) - or just didn't read the 'Owner's Manual'. 😄

No need to read the owner's manual to jack up a car, except if it's a carbon monocoque or something similar.

You just see the assembly line points and pick it up from there.

A good example is my brera

1 and 2 are the manual prescribed jacking points where they are inverted hollow cubes for the factory scissor jack to slot in.

3 and 4 are assembly line mounting points used during the vehicle's manufacturing.

As you can clearly see by the now-abandoned Brera factory in San Giorgio

Not everybody knows what you have put at the Brera and who can blame them as long as the information on jacking the car up is freely available and they know where to reliably find this information - hence the 'Owner's Manual'. Your Brera example means knowing assembly construction information too - and getting down on the ground to see if you can get your head under a car to see the holes.

Not every car owner is an engineer or the slightest interested in car factory construction of any particular period or has lots of driving experience and I've no idea what is now taught in driving lesson, probably how to find the TwatNav in the menus or the button that magically takes away almost all driving responsibilities.

I have a small issue in the same area (seam up or lip),a non-local mechanic lift it without paying attention where to put the jacking ''arms'' and cause me a small bend.

Other mechanic point this to me,he took the car from him for other work (insulation) and spot it,too late to ask for explanations from the first idiot.

The tyre-shop guy was the culprit, he did what you said or he put it in a rong spot and bent that part of the metal.

Now needs some forging work plus painting.

It's very hard to diy but I think you can do it, it also needs a new anti-chip coating (called gum in Greek, tsichla amaxomatos)

I heard a lorry haulage company owner call it this many years ago because he was fed up of interviewing potential driver's for his company and they didn't know basic well-known haulage routes in the UK off the top of their heads and were far too reliant on the electronic aids that were added mobile devices some drivers used, worst still they probably had retail rather than commercial versions hence lorries being on unsuitable roads and getting stuck or hitting low bridges with their high trailers because they weren't using their eyes and brain enough. He would be in total despair now with the delivery and 'taxi' drivers. 😀

Just for information, In case you need a job or more training and education n the UK and a bit of UK English to balance the US English - tyre place for tire shop. And, because instead of cause (or cos), the lift we call a two post lift. No, don't thank me for this. 😁
