i never drive in the dark but had to tonight and it came up the battery again and a stop start error ,

is this all seperate issues or can it be that it's all linked to a charging issue ?

any help would be greatly appreciated

Electrical gremlins are most likely battery issue as first easy point. Best is to get a battery tester on it but especially where there seems to be battery involved that’s where the lowest odds would be

It’s natural to feel like that but once it’s sorted you’ll feel fine again. They are great cars but yours has had a fair old life already so it’s bound to have some aches and pains.

Yes I would be more inclined to look for a VAG specialist. Have a look on here - there are forums for good and bad garages in areas. It would definitely be worth driving a bit more. For example, when you take it there make sure (or phone and ask in advance to save you the trouble) that they know that if they change the battery they code it in. If they don’t know, or say it doesn’t matter, walk away.

because of fuel economy and ecology.

i suppose , just trying to look on here for a specialist in edinburgh or surrounding areas now , trying to look on here but not getting far , technology and j don't mix haha

Googled “VAG specialist Edinburgh” and found a few - auto-technical refers to being VAG specialist but you could always phone and ask them if they can update the online service history. Also, ask them what they do when they service a haldex - if they say they change the oil and update the service history, then I would move away. If they say they clean out the gauze on the end of the pump then they’re more likely to know their stuff.

thank you so much for all your help , will give them a call and see what they say :) hopefully can't get things sorted out one way or another as apart from all the glitches so far i'm loving the car it's just off putting when it's all went wrong at once 😞
