Rain getting in - where to look?

Featured Replies

I have a Skoda Superb Mk II from 2013 and have had it from new. It has started letting rain water into the driver's footwell. I can see it dribbling down from the overlap in the trim mid way between the hinges on the driver side door, it also dribbles in higher up underneath the dash close to that point. I suspect a drain has got blocked somewhere and have had a cursory look around the base of the windscreen but can't see anything obvious - does anyone know where the drain channels are in this area? Where should I look, which bits do I need to remove and how do I remove them? - A sun roof is NOT fitted.

Many thanks

Is the car still on original windscreen? Not experienced myself but have seen reference to poorly fitted replacement screens allowing water ingress

With the mkII check around the plenum chamber especially where water flows down into the rear of the front wing. It's prone to getting blocked/ restricted and if it does water will find it's way in somehow. Also check behind the wheel arch liner where the rear of the front wheel arch meets the sills - it's usually full of all sorts of carp and can eventually rust through. Easy job undoing a few screws each side.
