Exhaust Flexi

Featured Replies

The flexi needs replacing on my 1.2, CGPA petrol engine.

As the front end of the flexi is very close to where the pipe starts to bend up to the cat, I'm wondering if welding the new one in will be necessary, rather than clamping.

Has anyone come across this problem when replacing the flexi section only?

TIA

On the MK1 the cat and front pipe/flexi are seperate but you need a repair flexi with a slight angle at one end not straight. I did a vw FOX which may be similar to yours but the flexi is part of the cat with not enough pipe to clamp a repair to once old old one was cut off so needed welded unless you replace cat and flexi.

Remembered the company I got mine from. They may be able to help.

I replaced the flexi pipe on a BXW engine and you can by a clamp in pipe. Works as well as welding.
