Speed limit warning

Featured Replies

I have a problem with my speed limit warning. It warns me when I break 20mph.i want to set it to warn me when I break other speed limits up to 70mph.but I can't find the setting to alter the setting. Can anyone help please.

I don't believe you can set if for numerous speeds, at least you can't on mine.

Thanks for the reply. I have just traded in a kamiq 1.5 sel. It did it at every speed. My new car is the Monte Carlo. I've been been back to Skoda and they look at it and say it's set. When I take the car back out on the road it just does it at 20mph.its very frustrating. I could understand if it didn't do it at all. But why 20mph.

Page 57 of the handbook (at least on my car).

Press the right hand silver button on the steering wheel to bring up the menu.

Scroll to "Warning at"

Press the right hand silver button again.

Set a new speed for the warning.

I have a horrible feeling that, once activated this warning is there for ever. It should cancel if the car is left standing for 2 hours. Maybe try setting it to 90mph as the stored value?

Your car will have speed limit recognition as well, does the little speed limit symbol in the dash reflect the posted speed limit? In my car overspeed due to exceeding the posted speed limit gives rise to a little "bong" and the speed limit symbol pulsates.

Thanks very much for your help. I will try that. I'm hoping I don't get a speeding ticket before I sort this out.

As does my 25 plate Monte Carlo.

Yes it just shows 20mph all the time. I didn't have this problem with my last kamiq. Whatever the speed limit was it beeped when I broke it. I wouldn't mind if it didn't do it at all but 20mph is annoying.

I have set a speed limit warning on my 2021 Karoq. It warns of overspeeding (0, 3 or 6 mphover posted speed) which of course is in itself inaccurate as the speedo under-reads by about 3mph. The issue I have is that I don't know where the system gets its limits from. There is a small town near me where the limit in the town centre is 20mph (very reasonably) but there is a small ring road round the north side which is 30 mph limit. However, some some reason the system thinks that all of it is 20 mph so it gives a spurious warning. The ring road is 'national speed limit' and has streetlights, so there are no 30 signs apart from the first one entering the town, and there are no 20 signs to be mistakenly read. There is a long way to go before speed limits and car systems can be considered accurate.

That's the problem I've got. It only warns me when I go over 20mph . It's very frustrating.

As well as compulsory fitted Speed Warnings from 2024 / 25 that might or might not be faulty, There is also a self set Speed Warning, also a 'Winter Tyre' speed warning that can be set when Winter Tyres fitted to remind drivers. EU / UK / Europe.

It looks like you have set a speed warning at 20 mph, the traffic sign recognition system should read speed limit signs and warn you as mentioned above if you go over the speed limit. You can adjust how far over the limit before warning in the settings and I’m sure you can set the warning sound level there as well, perhaps you are not hearing the warning.

How did we manage to drive safely before all of these warnings now flag up for us, there is a thing called a speedometer👍
