What is this cable for? Fabia mk2 1.4 Petrol

Featured Replies

Dangling loosely in the breeze, does anybody know where this should be connected to and what it should feed? The fuse is a 15 A.

Many thanks from a guy scratching his head.

Looks aftermarket, so possibly an amplifier or something. Careful reconnecting it in case the other end is sat against metal somewhere.

In a Skoda Fabia Mk2 (2007–2014), there are no factory-installed "in-line" fuse holders for standard circuits.

Try and follow the wire to see where it goes through the bulkhead to find the other end

Mhhmmm, thanks both. Car has a tow bar fitted (way before my time) so perhaps it is related to that.

I’ll ignore it for now- glad to hear it isn’t vital. 😊

Many thanks again for such speedy replies!

It might have provided the "permanent live" for trailer interior lights or battery charging.

Sounds that way, I'd imagine the other end is one of the rear quarters, behind the side panels in the boot. Most likely the nearside.

It could be driving the towbar smart bypass relay. I fitted one on an old seat and it required an inline fuse from battery +ve which from memory was 15amp. Do the trailer socket lights work and does it reach battery?

Sorry just spotted the enormous picture of battery hiding in plain sight.
