Last car you had with no aircon and when?

Featured Replies

Don't know how we coped before it! Used to be a luxury!

I can't remember if my MkIII Golf GTI 8v snail did.If not then 1996.

That is 10 years of pampered motoring:)

To turn the question round, after 9 years of driving, the first car I had with air con was the Fabia in 2004 (which lasted 4 months before it packed up!). Agree with you though - how did we ever manage without it?!?!

I suspect in 10 years time we'll all be wondering how we ever coped without sat nav.... :D

Chris

Corsa - 2002

Last car we had was our Felicia, that went about 5 weeks ago:thumbup:

2 cars with air-con now that is:thumbup:

"Current" - the smart doesn't have air con.

It does however have a glass roof. Portable greenhouse...

Rob.

Air con is over rated lol

Its drinks fuel and slows your car down

My Polo doesnt have air con :(

july the 3rd 2004 , the day i got my Fabia VRS , having had 17 years of uncool motoring

this car.... my current fabia doesnt have air con..... on a similar note the fan packed up in my works van today......

SWMBO's Clio has no aircon.

NEVER NEVER NEVER buy a car without it!!!!

2001 a Ford Escrot ;) 1.6 Ghia - bought for £300 to keep miles off a lease car I had at the time. Did have a sunroof though :D

Citroen Berlingo in white of course. Circa April 2001 when I got an ashtray 2.0DTI with aircon. Couldn't live without it, especially in the house. :P

Current, it is however a convertible.

My last car without air con was a Corrado. That was 4 years ago. Had a SEAT Ibiza TDI after that, which had climate control.

The wifes Mini One hasn't got air con. I tend to drive that as little as possible in weather like this!

My first car not to have air con is my new octavia which I have had for a week. I went as far to get a quote to have it retroffited but realised it truly would be cheaper to change for a new model. It is really hot in the car, and my furby before had really good A/C, but at least nothing can ever go wrong. However, it is nice to have the wind blowing through the car, with a cigar in hand and Glenn fray on the CD player:cool:

Ill get my coat:P

Last car for me was the Merc C180 in 2001, before I got the octy vRS. Since then, all the cars have had aircon. Even the current mondeo and the previous one. The current one with 155,000 miles on the clock works perfectly, lovely and cool. Same with the Boxster, you cant beat open top motoring with Aircon on these hot days.

I had a Mondeo without Air-Con, although it did have a sunroof, so wasn't too bad when your motoring along.

Last car I had without aircon was my Suzuki Swift Gti in 1995. Did have a sunroof tho. And several gaps in the body work. Over 10 years of pampering since then.

Wish I still had it come to think about it.

Air con is over rated lol

It doesn't "drink" fuel. It only makes a couple of MPG difference - the same sort of level as the extra drag from having open windows and I know which I'd prefer.

My last car without AirCon was a Citroen AX which I traded in for a Ka 5 years ago

My CTR doesn't have AC and i really miss it! Five weeks tomorrow and i get my vRS with AC as standard!!

My last car without aircon was a peugeot 205 which I traded in 1998

Golf GTi mk2 8v in Tornado Red, was about 1991 iirc

It's not an extra, it's a birthrite :D

I guess the Galaxy - which went in 2000 IIRC.

Currently, my MGB has no aircon, but my others do.

My MX5 doesn't have aircon - but then it doesn't really need it.

All I've got to do now is sell it - shouldn't be too difficult in this weather!!!
