Is green a bad colour?

Featured Replies

Looking to sell my car shortly and I've got a mate in the motor trade, he told me that my car will be difficult to sell because it's green!

Is that really the case? I was under the impression that with it being a TDi with a/c and a sunroof, it should sell pretty easily. :(

I sold my Metalic green Corsa for £4k within 2 days of it being in the local rag

Quite a lot of people consider green to be unlucky for a car, swmbo for one, on the other hand thousands are bought new and it appears in every manufacturers portfolio, so probably easier to sell than say.... yellow....;)

It'll be easier than say, beige?

my dad got his fabia cheap because it was green i wouldnt have a green car myself just not to my taste but then i'd buy a yellow one!

Some cars suit colours..............DB9 in green .............I'd but it

ha you think green is a prob mine is orange well burnt orange. However inotice that seems to be becoming a popular colour ( hopefully)

DB9 in green .............I'd butt it

im sure your meant to drive them;)

im sure your meant to drive them;)

well spotted............deliberate mistake ..............nice to know your all paying attention.................:D

Have had two green cars no problem come trade in.

British racing green = good

Fast n' Furious lime green - not so good

Babypoo green = bad

I heard that green is the car colour chosen by geniuses, hence, mine is silver :(

The Missus MX5 is BRG and looks great.

Apparently Hitler had quite a few green vehicles as did Churchill.

I always thought red was an unlucky colour......

red is a stereotypical colour - its only unlucky because at one point there was so many red cars so they always ended up in crashes lol

I've always been told green is an unlucky colour for a car. During the past 6 or 7 years my neighbour has had 2 green cars, a silver car and a red car. The 2 green cars where like magnets and got dented to bits by other cars. Reliability was also poor. The other 2 cars remained dent free and reliable too. Probably just a coincidence.

Apparently Hitler had quite a few green vehicles as did Churchill.

that would be camoflage then ?

Cheers everyone. Mine's not that rather unpleasant solid paint green that's kinda . . uhmm . . peppermint green that Skoda do, mine's a much darker green and metallic. :)

We'll see before long. :)

I think statistically they are more likely to be involved in accidents hence people not liking them!

"that would be camoflage then ?"

That would be irony then....JP

Had a green car a few years back , and found a parking ticket where it had the number plate correct but colour as Black , it was late in the evening, and Green cars look no different to Black ones in the dark . Ended up contesting the parking ticket because it was noted as the wrong colour , so they cant all be bad .

I can verify that green cars have more accidents. I had one some years ago and it was always getting hit. Mostly I was parked or just stopped in traffic. Apparently we respond later to green as we approach a green object. Probably so used to seeing lots of green trees, grass etc. I was told that bright yellow or orange is the colour we notice first.

When I worked in the motor trade a few years ago green was the most popular colour for new registrations (and a few years before that it would have been red and now it's probably silver). Suppose it's quite inoffensive and FWIW I've heard people say that blue cars are bad luck so it's probably not worth worrying about.
