170bhp vrs diesel?

Featured Replies

30 kg heavier than RS TFSI

I've called all my local, and not so local, dealers. None of them have the Brochures for the vRS TDi. Where did you see them?

As Ant says the brochure is just the regular New Octavia range brochure with a few lines added to the specs section to cover the 170bhp diesel. Data on mpg & CO2 emissions is still TBA.

Hello!

Why don't you just mention it briefly and do the trade (no sex for a couple of weeks but you survive).

Of course everybody is cracking jokes about the new car a couple of weeks but it'll pass.

I know for a fact that Volvo is NOT cheap to own.

I traded my 2002, V70 2.4T, 45000 km for this car, Octavia combi 2.0tdi Elegance with DSG and som extra options.

At least i know i laugh all the way to the petrol station (and bank, and insurance company, and road tax department).

By the way 2.0 tdi and DSG is a hell of a good combination.

Regards,

Robert

I like this quote from ants post

Same bore and stroke and compression ratio as 140 TDi

This most likely means its a breathed on 140TDi, so most likely jabba and the likes wont be able to do to much with it.

Vtech already got something for the TDI170. On the outside the RS TDI looks as RS TFSI. No TDI badge.

A lovely car. Hard to hear that it

Still have to get used to the calipers though, personally I reckon the Green ones stand out nicer with the Green in the Skud badge.

Should be nice car :)

RS TDI on the track. Bad video. Only using a pocket camera for my pics and videos. HP photosmart R707.

Went to my dealer last week to enquire and get brochure. They did not know anything about it !!!!

But the same was true of the whole range of 1.9tdi engines..

im curious to see tuneability with these new piezo injectors.. could be a limiting factor.

Id have to get a long test-drive to try the economy.. as it would have to be alot better than the tfsi to justify itself (Shifty managed to get 37mpg on way back from the ring) - which really isnt bad for a 250bhp car

Where do you live?

Indeed, the details are in the main octavia brochure. I have the July 2006 edition and its definately in there.

And they're on the Skoda UK website.

I'd say a good reason not to buy one there then.

I've just driven back from Silverstone and have had some pretty encouraging figures for the fuel consumption.

Not that it really matters but when I tested the TDi it didn't get above 36mpg, ok so I was in town but I was a little surprised.

Took one out for a test drive today. Don't know if it's cos it was new but there is a lot of lag which found strange for a diesel. Went well when you stuck your foot down. :)
