Dashcams on Elroq

Featured Replies

Wondered if anyone could recommend a discrete dash cam for an elroq.

But nervous because the 5V charger is in the boot and seemed complicated to install?

Welcome to the forum.

Isn't there a USB-C socket mounted on the rear-view mirror?

I wish there was, I still got mine to fit

Hi HaleImp,

I had a nextbase 522GW inc a rear camera supplied and fitted by the skoda dealer I purchased the car from. They did an excellent job and it was hard wired into the fuse panel. It comes on and goes off with the 'ignition' ie when you put your foot on the brake after getting in and switches off when leaving.

Hope that helps.

For the rear-facing camera, did you get the one which plugs directly into the side of the dashcam, or the one which is stuck to the tailgate window with a cable run to the main dashcam? If you got the one which is stuck to the tailgate window, did they do a tidy job with the cable, or is there a big cable loop hanging down between the tailgate and the roof liner?

Hi Mark-Surrey,

I had the one that sticks to the rear window. Yes they did do a tidy job. The camera was positioned in the top centre of the window just below the reach of the rear wiper sweep. There is a little loop from the camera into the roof lining.

Hope that helps
