I thought it was a bit strange when you said about the GRAYS skoda garage cause I don't remember seeing one there. I have seen the one down the a127, it had a rally version octavia sitting on forecourt a few months back...

Yes, I recall the RS too. I don't know how well you know grays, but it was hidden behind a petrol station on Southend Road.

As for Preston Motors, yes, I can recommend them, I bought my last two cars from there.

I know Grays fairly well and I know the southend road, there is only one garage I know of down there as well oposite my mates chinese restuarant.

I don't want to put too much of a dampener on your excellent choice of a new Vrs (especiallly black), but here goes..

I placed my order for a Black Magic Fabia Vrs at the end of Sep 03 from F R Pullyens York (excellent family dealership), and was told that delivery would be either last week in Nov or early Dec. I went in at the end of Nov to get the finance side moving and firm up the date and the dealer tells me that its been delayed and I won't see until early Jan 04.

I popped in again on Saturday just gone, to be told there is a further delay of 6 weeks, which means it won't arrive until late Feb, so its going to be a 04 Registration, which is a small bonus, but all I want is my car!!!!

If it arrives it will be 5 Months after ordering it, the dealer reckons that Skoda estimated on the cautious side, and now its in high demand!! There have been posts on the forum about supply problems with the 130 bhp tdi engines leading to a shortage of engines.

All I'm saying is I think you'll be extremely lucky to see your car in March!!!

To be honest, Sherlodge at Gillingham is only 15 mins further down the road.

Silverkat - Yerr I was told the start of March 2004 and apparently we are getting a car that a customer ordered a while back then pulled out so the car that was being built is higher up in the dealers list (If that makes sense). I was told about the supply and demands and that fact the demand is higher than the supply but Neil Jacques seems to be confident about the delivery date and we got confirmation on the aditional parts today and the date has only been put back a few weeks.

Personally my wife and I are not to bothered about the delivery date to much as we still have a resonable car we are using that is gonna be part exchanged for the new one when it arrrives.

BTW F R Pullyens is a good place to buy the car as we found them honest and very friendly, plus they supplied the in-laws with their new Octavia at a good price.

"Best things for those who wait" i would say. Could've got my Vrs in december but I was too darn busy to get a delivery date in the month.

Ordered it on November 30th. Got my delivery date confirmed to 10th Jan. Silver fab vrs but no extras.... Cant afford the extra luxuries:(

The end of many a dealer is nigh. I only knew about the because my ex live in Asylumn seeker central(gravesend). If you are having to go to Gillingham Chavyboy then you might as well use Preston Motors. Their adress is...

Looks like you've been very lucky in getting hold of a cancelled order, (which would probably have been ordered around the same time as mine).

I was considering a Seat Ibiza TDI sport as an alternative for a while, but have decided to stick it out and wait for the furby. Cheaper, more understated and a better long term prospect!
