Celtic Tuning Remap

Featured Replies

Just had my Fabia Vrs done of these guys ...Initial impressions werent that great as it didnt feel much quicker the more i drive it the quicker its becoming..they guy siad this was normal and might take a while for the full map to take effect.....wheel spin is a bit crazy in 1st and 2nd ! Again initial impressions are that this map is much smoother than my previous superchipped vrs...that seemed to just throw you back in your seat at 2000rpm ...this map seems more progressive......Will give a full review next week after givin some time to bed in.....just need to get my Eibach springs on and some Ibiza Cupra wheels ive just bought off cupranet forum.....cant wait

Apparently this is common with remaps. Your car's computer can take a while to learn the new setup and adjust to it.

Angel tuning do a brilliant map. You will feel a difference straight away.

I have had mine done for over 13000 miles now and enjoy every minute of it!!

A bit more info on "ECU adaptive learning" in this thread

What's the conclusion on the Celtic Remap then??

Pretty damn good ;)

No complaints from me

How does the ECU cope with a AMD Unit then? These can be switched back to normal. Does this mean that the ECU has to learn again once the map is put back on?

Welcome to Briskoda. :) Given that this is your first post, and we don't have any information on what car you own, how about posting some more details?
Be careful! had mine done at 2k by 20k it needed a gearbox and DMF.....................

Please give details...DMF faults can be common post remap, however I believe it's more down to the driver and the tollerance of that exact manufacturered part, also how good your remapper is plays a large role too.

I don't floor it at any rev which is going to make the engine labour & DMF labour. I am very progressive with my acceleration, above 2.5k I can safely plant my foot.

I don't short shift or quickly try to engage gears, instead I always ensure I fully depress the clutch and change properly, this may take up to 1 second longer but in the long run it's worth it, and IMO doesn't degredate performance that much on the road.

My Jabba remap is very progressive, it gives a good constant performance over the entire rev range, meaning I don't need to floor it using the low down torque which could potentially damage the gearbox/DMF to get anywhere as I have lots of power elsewhere in the revv range.

40,000 miles post remap and my car feels just as lively as ever with *touch wood* no signs of clutch wear or gearbox issues.

Anyone else had gearbox or DMF problems?

Nope just a BFO :D

BFO? big fat overdraft?

big fuk off

What's the conclusion on the Celtic Remap then??

Not massivley impressed, i have let a couple of people drive it who had driven my last fabia vrs that was superchipped and they both agreed that my superchipped one is faster ! Superchipped was more agressive and could really feel it pull you back , the celtic one is more progressive . A furby owner freind of mine drove it last week and he just said it was quicker lower in the rev range and thats about it. Which was rather a dissapointing comment to be honest...! Also they claim 195 BHP and 310Lbs plus buts that all at the fly wheel and not at the wheels , i think they should quote the real fiqures on the website ! Im still trying to decide if the car is fast or im just missing the speed of my old LCR 225, onced your used to certain speeds it just becomes normal so the fabia could be much faster but becuase im used to the speed from the LCR225 it just feels like normal....Hope that makes sense...

been considering a remap by these but also chipboost, unsure how real the 195 is as every other tunner states 170 -180 bhp having to wait till december though for insurance purposes.:thumbdwn:

Eyup, I have a Fab vRS remapped ages ago by Celtic Tuning......

It became very noisy in second gear, very worried it was the remap - turns out to have been a manufacturing fault - gearbox replaced.

Few awkward questions asked regarding cars performance though, warranty and dealer as good as gold - phew

Anyone had their Celtic Tuning remap on a rolling road then?

Check out awesome-gti's website and look in the rolling road bit.

REVO & Jabba make more power & more better yet have a nicer curve.

I know of a Celtic mapped car that has since needed 2 replacement turbos and an intercooler.... just a thought

...and one that has had zero problems and the owner is extremely pleased with ;)

No where near 190 can they achieve. There is a rolling road clip on Awesome GTI's website, of a vRS, with a blueflame exhaust, PD160 intake, Green Panel filter, and then remapped by Celtic Tuning. Result = 174 hp.

So just a remap gets the standard car to 170 bhp? Thats ok by me!

Oh, and real world figures closing in on 300 lb/ft torque.

I pulled 2 car lengths on my brothers 240bhp 3.5 litre V8 BMW 40-110 mph.

Quite fast then...

Yes. 170/180, But no more than that. Or atleast, I've not seen it yet. Trying to get a Fabia vRS close to 200 hp, is difficult :)
