Six Countries in One Day!

Featured Replies

Late tommorrow we start on our epic Briskoda road trip journey to Prague.

Leaving at 4:30am from Dover we leave country number one and arrive in France at around 6:45am local time. A quick blast into Belgium and onto Holland, country number four!. Then the main part is through Germany on those delightful de-restricted autobahns :P and finally into country number six, the Czech Republic and eventually arriving at our destination in Prague at around 8:00pm (we hope).

Gonna be a good one I hope

Wicked! like a mini gumball ralley! Drive safe, good luck!

sounds like a real road trip :) Good luck.

Good luck too everyone involved. I

goodluck...and drive safe

Autobahns are great BUT for no apparent reason there are 100K speed restrictions every 3 or 4 miles or so, this makes VERY rapid progress quite frustrating. However the lane discipline is perfect and there are areas where you can open up on for a few more miles. Good luck and stay safe!!

PS. Kranjski Gora, Slovenia to Rotterdam, Holland - Just under 10 hours !!

Hope everyone enjoys the trip and has a safe trip. Looking forward to see the photos.

Hope you all have a great time.

Could any of you make a mental note of how long roughly it takes you to reach Holland? I'm thinking of driving to Amsterdam from the Chunnel somewhen

Amsterdam takes about 4-5 hours from the Tunnel, as I recall. I think it's about 250 miles on good roads. Must be about 10 years since I did teh journey, though.

Thankyou :)

I was just trying to work out whether it would be worth it. My local airport will have only just started routes to Amsterdam and the times aren't that great.

@Pixi

Why not go Harwich to the Hook of Holland, your just over an hour from Amsterdam then on a good run, the HSS is well enough equiped for the crossing (just over 4hrs IIRC)

@ The intrepid Czech explorers!!!

Good luck to all of you, your going to have a great trip, stay safe and come back to pee us all off with stories of the trip.

Thats 4 countries? Germany, Belguim, France and England. Wales isn't a country. I think its a province, but don't quote me on that.

Wales is a country.

An example of a province in the UK would be a county of your choice.

spoke to shifty last night and if they were running good for time, they were going to stop by for a bit and say hello, they left Blackpool 2 hours late and made it to the the ferry terminal with minutes to spare

Me and Beretta had a sportsmans bet over if they would make it,as when I spoke to them, they were on the M6 toll road at 12.45 and Dartford by 15.15( should have put some money on it:( )

Yes, but as you know I never condone exceeding the NSL on any roads..:D

Be aware that the autobanns arn't all derestricted. Recently had a trip to Germany and its not all 130mph all the way. Around the junctions they reduce it to i think 120kmph or less, they also have speed cameras on the roads, and unlike in the UK they are hiddern, not bright yellow.

Just warning you, last thing you want is to have 40points coming through the post 2 weeks after you get back :/

Other than that, have a gret trip guys, would love to have been able to afford it right now.

Oh dear..

I really do hope you are being sarcastic lol.

Well, I hope the weather improves once they're over the channel !

Its quiet pleasant here today :/

Pi$$ing down in Chester

Currently 2" standing water on the factory floor, waterfalls from the gutters and a very unhappy MD. Never seen it rain as hard as it has done for the last 30mins.
