New Toy Alert

Featured Replies

Just done a deal to buy the Demo RS Rally from Gordon Lamb Chesterfield.

Drove this one back 2 back with a black VRS, the sales guys are not sure about the engine spec but the white one definately felt more responsive & willing to go.

Picking it up on Friday when they have had a chance to check it over etc.

I would post a pic, but I have tried without success.

:D

Way to go bandit1

Do you know what number of 100 your's new beast is.

I can host a pic for you, just attach it to an email and send it to [email protected] and I will do the rest.

Good luck with the new motor.

Thanks for the info - Pics on the way.

It is Number 71.

Thanks

Good on ya Bandit1, you are now the member of the exclusive WRC club, now we just have to track down the rest of them. You have got to get rid of the Skoda web site on the back of the car and advertise Briskoda.net. I have the old web site Octaviars.com on the back of mine. :D

Nice one Bandit1!

The RS I picked up on Friday is from Lambs too. Deal with Steve Cantrell, he's very helpful and enthusiastic.

I would imagine you will be quite easy to spot ( ) but look out for me in the Sheffield area. Black RS with a 'Briskoda.net' sticker in the back window. Damn, they're hard to get straight! Only car I've ever had that you can just stand up in the boot.

Old indeed, my site is still going strong. So many sites link to it now from all over the globe I am loosing track of the 200+ hits per week it gets.

sixtysix do you have a pic?

bandit1, feel free to send me some more of your clean beast and I will add yours to.

Mannyo, sorry did not mean to upset you, should have said "the Original website". will take a pic of the back of the car once I clean it. 8)

Hi Guys

smart looking machine  - does the spec differ (apart from visually!) from a normal cooking vRS?

Cheers

Russ

I think it's the original RS spec plus heated seats and xenons

and ESP, i think?

<nods>

Isn't there anyone around here with Adobe Photoshop who can clean up those decals and lets us see what the car is going to look like when they've been peeled off? 8)

And do we have to wave at WRC drivers like we apparently have to do to RS drivers?

Easy, look for the post entitled "white charger" - elisesport has a pure white WRC, and very smart it looks!

As for waving, I'm not fussy, wave or a knowing nod at all octavia drivers, most respond, most RS owners ignore me, guess it's part of the culture

I think the WRC has the side airbags also , which the 'stock' RS doesnt have. AFAIK the engine specs should be identical , maybe the other one bandit drove had less miles on it and was still 'tight' or it had been refueled with 95 octane? PS its a great looking car , are you still going to get rid of the decals Bandit?

Thanks for the positive comments !!!

I agree that the car looks good, I just could not live with it like that day in, day out.

The decals are definitely factory fit as they have been very well fitted but are starting to show small signs of shrinking etc.

Part of the deal with the garage is that they remove the stickers, paint the rear door handles white & generally make sure that the paintwork looks as it should when the decals are removed.

When they have finished it will be plain white with the green stripe on the bumpers, I think it will look good, but time will tell.

Now about those white alloys....................

Photos will be here when its done

Graham.

and central front armrest?

Naff, Naff, Naff. Bandit, what are you thinking about, be one of a kind, don't listen to the crowd. Stand proud. Keep the decals. cos decals rule.

Excuse Me !!!

Thank you for the valid point of view, However, I understood unique as being one of a kind (not 1 of 100).

Personal taste is just that - Personal, I personally think it will look better without, but I will be the first to admit it if I am wrong (& the first to fork out a couple of Grand for new decals).

Thanks for the honest feedback though.

Any other thoughts anyone ??? (I can take it)

Graham

Do what ever you feel happiest with, in respect to the stickers. Doesn't it also come with fluffy dice as standard to match the stickers?

Could be worse though, you could have got a yellow one ;)

If you *must* be rid of the white alloys, I may take them off your hands....

Fancy some 16" silvers in part ex?

I feel vindicated after reading the Feb/March issue of Rally XS where Monsieur Auriol's new car seems to be the colour scheme I am going with.

(with no Decals)

:D

Regarding the alloys,

I am only interested in 17" ones as am going to see how it looks first.

Thanks

Graham.

Bonjour ca va tres bon et voila !

Talking of Didier Whats-is-face, I fell asleep on the sofa last night and briefly woke to hear mention of his rally exploits in the Octavia (Channel 5?). I didn't want to start a whole new thread because I only caught about 30 seconds and then conked again. Apparently the Skoda team were able to bring him into the fold with the promise of the new Fabia WRC currently in development. Exciting news for those after a small hot hatch? And could this be the fire breathing diesel Fabia mentioned previously on Briskoda?

FabiaTdi - your dreams may come true!
