:ready2go:

It's radio 2 right? It's not natural to listen to Radio 2 round Castle Combe?

Should be fun, hopefully the *University of hard knocks; how to dig a hole* airfield will be dropped...Rest of the venues on the March tour are fab! Prescott here we come

Whats all this RPM stuff about? cost/locations/specifics etc?

It's not radio 2 - I just want a go myself :D

And yes - a return to South Cerney is NOT a requirement :p

Keep an eye on the website mentioned in the first post of this thread. You'll also find threads on previous tours in the events section.

Last year they ran two - one in the Spring, one in late Summer.

Spring one included one hillclimb, two airfields, one rally stage, and Castle Combe to finish.

Late Summer one included one special stage on Chepstow racecourse, one military camp, and two events at Prescott - one "rally stage" and 6 laps of the circuit.

Some stages on both events were a bit tough on cars (wheels particularly) as they were run on broken tarmac/concrete surfaces. South Cerney airfield on the Spring tour, and the "rally" stage at Prescott were the worst.

HTH

Count us in for the Spring one, cant do the August one .

They sate Late Summer is on 15 August, seems a tadge early for late summer, I will e-mail Simon to double check date

Aye, only mucking about.

Should be good, Octavia or one for the smooth Porscher?

@Neo Location, roughly jn9 of M5 might be 6, ends up at Castle Coombe. rough cost expect 150+ This gets you roughly 2 laps of 4 venues and 6 or so laps at castle coombe. Okay thats the driving bit, as a plus IMHO you get to see the likes of Morgan's, E-Types, Midgets, sorry Ian :smokin: , Rovers with DTM engines and a whole medley of other vehicles from before we were born.

It's not a great value day for track time, but oddly you come away with a really knackered feeling, a happy to have seen alot of cars and in some cases drive on venues normally closed to the public.

There are a few threads, search RPM. Videos and other bits and bobs are around certianly from the last one, not sure about the first one, I might still have the tape, found the prescott instructions in the car the other day...might read em this time. :eye-poppi

Other option is to find a co-driver, share costs and driving. Just make sure you know the difference between left and right as I don't.

I could well be tempted myself, the late summer tour sounds like it was a good laugh...This assumes that this year they find some smoother surfaces of course ;)

Any northern (or even non-northern) types interested in a possible co-driver's position ?

I may be up for this. Was going to do it last year, but ran low on funds! :( This year hopefully will be slightly different! :D

Yep i noticed that, hopefully it'll stay that way :)

I believe his name is Steve, but I'll be damned if I can find his nick...

And if someone is looking again for some ballast, I wouldn't mind helping out putting some weight on the left side of the car...

Geoff,

I'm up for your co-driver slot if available. I think Nick wants someone a bit lighter on the footwell this time around. When is it exactly?
