Felicia VR6

Featured Replies

At a VW meet in Santa Pod a few years ago I *think* I remember seeing a Felicia with the narrow-angle VR6 engine from the Golf shoehorned in under the bonnet.

Anyone know what became of this car? Did I dream it? It was, ahem, that kind of weekend IYKWIM.

Cheers

Simon

No, please explain

Was it Fun Yellow? If so I do remember it, amazing car, looked really well done.

When my home PC is back up and running I'll upload the Max Power article PDF I've got.

Yeah I recall it also from the Max Power feature many many moons ago.

Was one of the big tuners that did it iirc.

there was a 1.8T felicia fun kicking around somewhere too...

Indeed, JBS did the conversion, took a long time and around

i think that 1.8t in a felicia would be far easier than a vr6...... 1.8t can be done using standard length driveshafts and using a felicia diesel gearbox. all that's is needed is fabrication of the right hand engine mount to get it in + finding somewhere to put the intercooler.

I'd like to see how long the diesel box would last. Didnt last that long with the old non turbo engine bolted to em..lol. Drive shafts and CV's wouldnt last long either id bet.

JBS's one had the full conversion using a 02J box and quaiffe LSD as getting the power down was fairly tricky. Also upgraded the brakes to Golf VR6 spec.

Awesome GTi did the VR6 for Skoda,it was fun yellow with fun half leather trim.Got an official Skud UK photo of it when they owned it for shows ect....over to Sarah and the gang for more details.........

I thought it was Awesome.

i suppose the ultimate answer would be to fit the subframe and running gear from a mk3 golf to the felicia but that would be tons of work, and it probably isn't worth it...

Eaiser to use the MK4 Golf mountings as the Felicia allready has a pendulm mounting.

i think that would be a swings and roundabout type situation...... on the mk4 the engine mounts are on the chassis which would mean further fabrication work to fit the engine, whereas on the mk3 the engine mounts are on teh subbframe......

either way, it's still a waste of time

Hi

Right I have managed to get some pics up for you of the car Skoda commissioned us to build.

Here they are :-

Looking at the second pic, the reg number could be R801 XNH or R801 XNU. Can anyone find out if its still on the road based on this?

Hi Andy

Have faith mate ;)

Yes it is still on the road , it goes to some meets

I like the idea of the VR6 lump in the felicia, however i'd rather spend time getting the original 1.3mpi in mine upto its full potential.

I know it'd be hard work for (relatively) little gain, but I think that a nice nippy NA 1.3 with about 90bhp would be a very handy car to have round town

Oops - just seen the photos - that´s the one! What an awesome job.

i'd like to do a rear wheel drive felicia, just waiting for a decent audi v8 to come in at the breakers yard then hey presto!

those wheels look mad! what are they? and what size tyers are those?

and how do i get some brakes like that on my car?

Just take one to Z cars. I'm sure they could fit a nice bike engine or honda v-tec in the back.
