is there any need for this? try to be objective. some knives and fork don't look attractive (some don't anyway;) ) but they do a job, similarly to mudflaps, they are designed to do a job, aslong as t

  • I'm sorry - but have you had your eyes removed? That looks quite frankly - ****! You have ruined that car. The black ones are no better. They look like a cheap slut's vinyl mini skirt with vRS badges

this is the same company.

quote briskoda and you get them for £54 (10% discount)

I am Chris, I really like them, the brackets are custom made stainless and the fit is good on my octy and they do undoubtedly work. They look pretty good in Blue on my race blue octy as well imho.

they seem to be getting a warmer reception in the octy forum as well tbh. Thanks for getting it going Chris.

Same goes for me to Chris...I'm pleased with mine...even in red ......PSML

Keith

I've placed my order with PC and am hoping to get them some time this week. I have gone for black ones but have asked them to make up some different stickers for me. Not sure how low they will be as my car is lowered, I will post pics when I fit them.

ok have put mine on today. 1st rear one took about an hour the rest after were a doddle. I didn't plan very well so thats why it took longer....

I think they look really good and will definitly do a good job...will have to wait and see

black on black look really good and the black is a match..

Look good Chris, could have done with a set today for the Cat & Fiddle meet!! Washed the car this morning but you wouldn't be able to tell now   .

Do i take it your not bothering with the vRS stickers??

They look good but I'm a bit worried about how low the front ones sit!! I could have some trimming to do.

  • Author

they don't sit that low too be honest, and even if they are too low you have the easiest cut to make at the bottom as it's just straight across.

I am really happy with them. I think another lot of photos in the day will really show how good they look.

As for the Vrs stickers I'm in 2 minds, with the mudflaps it was all about application and not style, I don't want to go OTT thats all.If I do it will probablybe just the rears that get the VRS logo, come to think of it that would be 3 VRS logos on the rear!

I'd interested in seeing full car shots

Could be interested in two sets in black. Any discount for members or group buys ???

if you read back a bit then you will find all the info:thumbup:

any pics on here yet of a red vrs with the red flaps, apart from the photoshop one, might be interested as am now driving two hours to work every day and car is getting more than dirty daily now

no one has reported to have got red on red. but I think they will good if it goes by the black ones and blue ones on the octy of Fluffmeisters

I think green would've been perfect, bit gutted they can't do them, not sure how convinced I am on other colours

How long did they take to fit Chris ?

How long did they take to fit Chris ?

took about 30 mins for one of the rears (1st one we did) there are metal brackets you have to bend into shape for the rears (come flat packed) and the first one took a while longer. If you were planned and read the instructions first then I'd say 1 hour 30 mins is easy accomplished. 2 people knowing what they are doing then 1 hour easy.

I have a shot of the car before they were fitted and the car actually looks miles better with the mudflaps on!

kind of finishes the car off nicely. I always thought it lacked something:D

Chris,

some before and after shots of the whole car would be helpful.

Cheers

Seconded! Cheers Chris!

Did do, but I'm a swine for a bargain and would hate to miss out

So, £60 from the t'interweb guy at PC is the best ?

Must admit, I'm drooling over these that Scoobyclinic do for Subaru's....

Ok, so I've had the mudflaps on now for a while, I've not washed the car since I had them fitted and have driven nearly 1000 miles in all weathers (alot of rain to be honest with a little sunshine).

here are some pics of the car.

So little dirt has got on the side of the car which was the plan. Most noticebly is there is no wet patch all up the door after driving on a wet road  also no road crud on the sills and th bottom sides of the car.

not the best pics though.

Chris, do you find that the flaps turn in quite a bit on the back? I think my front ones look great but something is bugging me about the back.

they do a bit but it's doesn't bother my that much. one side is a little worse than the other. i'm sure you could easily sort it somehow?

on a whole I definitly think the car looks loads better with the mudflaps than without

They do bend inwards quite a lot. The main reason for this is the brackets supplied are too pliable. The steel needs to have a little more strength as the weight of the flap tends to bend them.

I have fitted mine and will post a couple of pictures shortly.

As mentioned, the fronts are spot on. The rears are the real pain. There needs to be stronger brackets to hold them straight (ish) if you know what I mean.

I agree with you Chris, the car does look better with them fitted but they are still in the 'prototype' phase to me. If there was more time taken in the feedback of this product to P.C then I feel that the brackets would have been a little thicker. They would still be easily pliable and would hold the flap much better. I have used several self tappers and have actually screwed into the wheelarch itself to keep the rears straight.

I've covered the screws and bolts with underseal so you can't see them.

It's only now that I realise why Skoda didn't bother to make rears for the VRS
