The first REAL new Octavia picture!!

Featured Replies

Download the 1024x768 wallpaper and you can see the strange way the bonnet opens, those are huge wings and I would not want to be the one to change a failed bulb in there.

Well I reckon it looks allright :) , a lot better than most of those photoshopped pics doing the rounds ...........reckon I could live with it !

Actually I think it is alright, cars tend to look a lot better in the flech than in photo's, light, reflections and all that. Success or failure is on price. Poverty spec at about

That's the one I want. The "sporty but frugal" 5lt V10 diesel model. My deposit is alredy down. :D

I think that engine's too heavy to be of much use to in anything other than a Touareg or Phaeton. And it's anything but "frugal" at 23 MPG combined. I'd sooner have the 4.2 V8. Maybe with a couple of turbos :D

Fair enough. Octy RS6 it is so! Lovely :D

Hello,

on the website of the german car magazine 'Auto-Motor-Sport' you can see a fake picture of the estate version based on the official picture presented by Skoda yesterday.

Regards...Kromi

dont think its a photoshop as the server claims the source is Skoda Auto.....
it looks pretty genuine to me.

Having seen the rear I'm already less worried... And - never thought I'd say this - the Estate looks terrific!

Quiet nice interior, looks very simillar to Superb.

So to sum up what we have so far

It looks OK to me, but I guess thats not the vRS version, which will probaly look loads nicer.

4-car have a feature on the new Octavia...doesn't really say a whole lot new though...

Rob.

I have to say Iam very pleased with the images we saw so far.

A good balance of evolution and modernity without triyng to be fashionable.

It looks rocksolide elegant and allmost a bit upperclass ... dont forget, there is a just golf underneath.

Iam sure the estate will be hot too.

Cant wait to see it in Geneva.

Happyyyy :thumbup::D

If the current Skoda Octavia origins were on extended Golf floorplan, I wonder if the New Octavia shares the new Golf Mk5 underpinnings.

Anyone else hazard a guess?

No need to guess. See the link in Robmawer's post above.

Look at that back-end again. That's a saloon, not a hatch (no rear wiper).

hmm, really beginning to grow on me. like the interior, will have to wait for what their idea of a vrs is....

Where's Ian...he'll photoshop it into an RS.

I think it looks ok. Its not ugly at all , and no worse than the current model.

The 140hp TDi would suit me just nicely , and performance models are often not available at launch so I wouldn't rule out a VRS at all.

The only thing I'm not sure on is the interior with a large screen in the console.

This would seriously limit the options for upgrading the stereo which is a major consideration for me when choosing a car.

Don't bet on it, Rob! The rear wiper on my hatchback was optional... :rolleyes:
