LOL Dog :D

I have just one question being new and all. What is one click' date=' is it just a remap?[/quote']

It's a remap that you can put on or take off yourself (like a Diesel performance box) that is done through the OBD port.

For more info look in the AmD forum on this magical and wonderous site.

Well I will be 25 in April, and I wont be chipping the car until I've had it about a year or so, and had chance to sort the ICE, but its nice to know some companies wont charge any extra. The reason I asked about the insurance is because my colleagues got an Ibiza TDI 130 Sport, and he was going on about the one click chip and how he isnt going to tell the insurance because he's "careful". Well thats fair enough, I am careful, but I acknowledge that anything can happen...

The most careful you can be is not to do it. They other thing is that to make sure it goes to the dealers (not easy obviously) and that they know about it (not always the best thing).

Regarding the 'have you told them' question I can't believe how many people have said I'm daft for telling Direct Line about my chip, even my usually very sensible father. I don't intend to stay with DL come renewal time but everyone keeps saying 'How would they know?'. I think of the worst case scenario ie really nasty smash and possible fatalities, lets face it if the police or DL want to find out you have modified your car they will find out.

What did DL do/say when you informed them about your mods? I am with them and anticipate they woouldn't be keen, or would charge me a fortune. Hw much extra was it for you?

Would that be Tom by chance? He needs to tell his insurance, he cant drive for **** and its only a mater of time.

And the One Click is a little more than a tuning box that works through the OBD port but this aint the place to discuss that, have a look int he AmD section.

Hi Ross, no its not Tom, the only Tom I know drives a Cavalier... I am sure he is a good driver, and I dont regard myself as a particularly bad one, but it would probably make me overly paranoid not declaring it to be honest...

Give me a bit to dig it out and I'll let you know.

Give me a bit to dig it out and I'll let you know.

I'll fill it in.

If you are under 25 thet will not allow any mods (not sure if they are already present)

If you are over 25 they told me you can do more or less what you like

(phone them first to be 100% sure though)

I've checked and to take me from the end of October 2003 until my policy renewal at the end of February 2004 DL charged me an extra

I'm with DL and for all my mods I pay an extra

I'll fill it in.

Bah. I am only 24, so things aren't looking good. I haven't had any mods done yet, but was keen on getting a One Click. Looks like I will have to either wait till July when the insurance runs out or Sept when I turn 25. Chuffing insurance.... :finger:
