"Its a Skoda. Honest..."

Featured Replies

I followed a 110TDi Octy Estate through Salisbury this morning on 2001 (Y) plate and i noticed it had that above writing on it, and the 5 spoke alloys were a bit more rounded on the spoke edges, and seemed to stick out a bit more as well. Unfortunately I did not get a chance to see what trim level it was.

This made me wonder, which range of cars gained the writing on the rear window?

my 2001 Y had the same sticker on it when i got it :)

My old vRS, had that in the back window. The words changed later, although I cant remember what to.

That would have been a pre-face lift SLX TDI

My neighbours 52plate fabia has it. I think I have seen "on no, another great skoda" on some too.

My first Fabia had that as well as as the What Car of the year 2000 sticker.

My Octy vRS did too...

My 01 (Y) vRS has it too, think Ill leave it in.

As other threads my Octy (PDI 25/08/02, first reg 1/9) has "Oh no. Another Great Skoda" on the rear window, and I fully intend to leave it there!

My 2001 (Y) Skoda had that in the rear window. Lasted about a month before I removed it and replaced with a Brisky sticker :D

Chris

Any unwarranted and unwanted advertising by my dealer was removed/never installed on mine as they wanted me to take ownership of the car ;)

Quite glad there are no further signs of dealerships messing with my car apart from the number plates. They are likely to get swapped at some stage too...

My '55' Fabia didn't have it. I wrote to Skoda, who kindly proved me with 2 stickers. :D

its annoying when they stick badges and/or stickers like that on really as its free advertising. if i were to buy a new car again and found such stickers on i'd ask them for commision :)

The "unwarranted and unwanted advert" for the place I bought my car from is long gone; the ONAGS thing is a great joke, or should I get the car debadged, since that advertises the maker, model, engine spec and trim level? ;)

My 2001 Octavia had the "It's a skoda. Honest! sticker in the back window but the previous owner took it out! It only appears when the back window gets steamed up in wet weather!

Ian :D

I really want one for my vrs. They make me laugh every time i see them! which isn;t very often!

Would probably have to go to Skoda UK. They came fitted on the cars from the factory

The place from where i bought my car's stickers have been removed too. Just got to get the plates changed now.

I took all the dealer stickers off our car except for the "It's a Skoda Honest ! " one in the back window because it makes me smile.

i'm not realy in favour of lots of dealer stickers, but i do like to see some evidence of a dealer somewhere, either just the simple sticker in the back window, or on the number plates.

i get a bit suspicious of a car with no evidence at all of any dealership, starts making me think it might have been in a smash (panels/plates changed by bodyshop), been stolen, or has something else to hide like a hire car history.

My 2001 'Y' Tdi didn't have one of these stickers. I phoned the dealer and asked if I could get one, and was told that I couldn't as they were put in at the factory.

Sorry..missed this post before my last.

Who did you write to Maffu? Skoda UK?

Nightmare, I'm in the process of trying to get my car as plain as possible. Looked all around glasgow for 2 days trying to get number plates that were totally free of anything but the letters and numbers relating to my car! Everywhere seems to even have thier postcode or something written on there! Irritates the life out of me!

I think i'll be writing to Skoda UK for some "It;s a skoda, honest!" stickers! :D

My mum's fabia (X reg) had 'oh no...another great skoda' I think.....could have been the 'it's a skoda...' but can't remember :(

AIUI it's now illegal to make a "numberplate" that doesn't have the supplier's name and postcode on it (as a measure to "combat car crime"). Of course, you could always contact a mail-order or internet supplier for some "decorative reflective signs" with the relevant font, spacing and colouring!
