I did have respect for Goochie before I read that thread.

Unfortunately that respect has now run over the hill screaming. I am really disappointed that an experianced forum goer got sucked into the whole thread given he doesn't even own one. That said everyone is entitled to his or her own opinion and he should be commended for expressing it.

Here is mine;

Doesn't matter what car it is, Fabia, Octy, Reliant... It is what it is. It's a car.

Every car model has there problems, once you are on a site that tries to fix problems it does become concerning but to be honest if you don't have problems of your own you don't need to worry.

i think Goochie had problems with his 350Z , has he been slagging that off on Pistonheads ?

i think every car has its good points and bad points , and for him to just pick up on the bad points of the Fabia VRS is hardly fair , when if you look on this forum he would see plenty of people who are more than happy with their VRS , i've had some of the problems he quotes (water ingress through the doors) but that wont detract from the car that can frighten a lot of better cars in the performance department but still return over 60mpg with a light foot , what he should be doing is giving both sides of the arguement and maybe pointing the person asking the question on Pistonheads in the direction of Briskoda so he could get an unbiased view of the car from the many enthusiasts on here .

i think the issue Goochie has raised has ruffled more than a few feathers.

the big thing on here, the fabia and many(not all) of its owners have praised it so highly and made out its the best vehicle ever has maybe just got to people over time.

if you take care to read back over the posts and threads since the fabia came out, replace the fabia with the octy vRS, all the fabia owners would be thinking what a pile of **** they are going on about.

This Goochie sounds like a right character to me, I have had 2 Fabia vRS and never had any of the problems he stated, some of the posts on Briskoda are written by the under 15s I must admit but you get that on all forums in various degrees, I used to be a member of the Cliosport forum when I had a 172 and this was much worse.

The Gooch is just being The Gooch, a wind up merchant which it seems like he has managed to achieve by this thread.

Personally I do not like being stereotyped into thinking my car is the best thing since sliced bread or it can take everything like a king just because I chose the vrs.

Anyway, who gives a toss what the next person thinks of their car? I certainly don't. It wouldn't bother me in the slightest if somebody thought their go kart was faster than a Ferrari.

There is no such thing as a fault free car, if there was the manufacturers and component makers and importers would soon be out of business.

my understeering, nose heavy lump is not the "ultimate driving machine"...

It's pretty good though. It can hardly fail to ne nose heavy and understeer with a cast-iron 1.9 diesel, can it?

The 2 Fabia's I have had have been good cars and I have owned loads of Crappy ones over the years, As i am getting on a bit I let the kids on Briskoda wind me up with c*appy rear lights and "I burnt off a 330D was the 72year old driver trying?".

I am going to have a lie down and mayby go to Tesco with the wife a bit later as we are nearly out of shake & Vac.
