Another old fart..............I LIKE being an old fart. Bring on 50 :D:D

On an aside - how many old farts drive Fabia vRS's? Or as more mature persons do we choose Octavias?

I'm an old fart ( 45, look 107 and act 12)

And proud of it:thumbup:

My Fabia had no problems, and I've ordered another, so that says something for them as I am a fussy git.:D

And I'm another, so that's at least three of us!

Glad to see you're rejoining us Mr G.

It's just the forum norm to be honest, hundreds of people post about a problem but the thousands that have no problems and think it's a great car don't write about it because then we'd just have repetitive posting about how good the car is.

 Are you trying to say that car forums are full of anal people ?

TBH I find it all very funny, not just this thread but most on here.

I fequent another car forum (Scoobynet) and now just go nowhere near the car related sections as they are full of people over analysing every component of the car. I bought the vRS as it was a well priced overall package and didn't draw the same kind of attention the Scoob did but the more and more I read on here the more similarities I see.

A lot of people on car forums really do just want to get over themselves and get on with living their lives and worry less about what car can beat another, how big their EGR hole is, that their aerial is too long or that their car has flaps .......... hmmm, freud may have had a point afterall ! ;)

Who is Goochie?

There's a lot of rubbish being talked there, but some sense as well. The Fabia vRS isn't perfect- at the end of the day it's a £12k hatchback with a powerfulish diesel engine- but mine has none of the problems mentioned, handles pretty well, is fast enough for me to get frustrated with most of the traffic and make me grin like a loon on a clear road, is economical enough that my commute doesn't break the bank, and didn't cost a lot to buy. It's better to drive than my Audi A3 I had before, which even though it was older, would have cost about 6k more new.

It's not a supercar, but it's very very good at what it's supposed to be, and the only minor problem i have is a minor trim rattle. I'd reccomend it to anyone.

Oh dear Phil - What have you started!!

Its an inherent problem with the DPF in the exhaust and cannot be mapped out

Where is the DPF on the Fabia vRS with the BLT engine code??

it's behind the googlebinder just to the left of the wuffle valve. Haynes omitted this from the manual.

I've found susceptibility to land on its roof... tried and tested.. However all the other things are just small glitches or the characteristic of any diesel.

I think you've made a bit of an a$%e of yourself there mate!

He seems to have taken every single reported fault on all the cars described here and made out like it's normal for every furby to be affected by the lot.

Oh , and as for using some of Mil's quotes as an example of the typical driver....

still whether what he has written is right or wrong you will never get a Fabia owner to admit their understeering, nose heavy lump is not the "ultimate driving machine"...;)

which of course its not as col and I own that..... complete with tis flat battery, cracked exhaust manifold, missing bumper trim and red foglight covers....:)

"my understeering, nose heavy lump is not the "ultimate driving machine"... :D :D

It's a bit of value fun though. :)

Don't like the Fabia vRS - tough cookies!

For what you pay, it's a great deal.

you wanna list every fault recorded for the car? Better include all the rave opnions that owners have as well. Fair is fair.

The comments do not detract one iota from my enjoyment of my car, so there!

The poor man forgot to mention the creases in the rear seats as standard

Hope he has the decency to amend his post before anyone goes out and buys one on the back of his recommendations :D

mongrel = value :rubchin:

mongrel = value :rubchin:

Perhaps I mean the car in general, if I'd not tweaked it so much. :o It would still have been a decent remapped pd100 - sure, nose heavy and so well handling, but it would still have been decent for the money.

dont for get yours is not a vrs... thus is exempt from all chavvy ludicrous claims (allegedly)...

true. Although it doesn't seem to do have done much for the chavvy ludicrous claims people make about me. :D

very true... but the new front is a marked improvment....

(on the car)

...not sure if its viewed as cool, uncool or deeply embarrasing......

Was the original question.

Then someone on there (and indeed many on here) call it the Furby ......

That should pretty nuch make the guys mind up!

People who ask such questions on car forums are generally looking for a bite. If they are too stupid to go and test drive cars and make decission from there then is it really worth getting in to a X page 'I love my car so much I stick my penis up it's exhaust and I hope it has some babies soon' thread ?

As for Goochie

gottcha.jpg

Whith the amount you've got you're going to need a bigger boat.

How many Forums does this guy want to be on??? does he even drive cars or is he stuck on his computer chair all the time??

I bet he'd have more idea on what to buy an Intel or AMD!! :GEEK:

My Fabia VRS is great and does not have the problems he stated. I'd say they were good cars. Never mind, you will always have people slagging good things off, it's natural of course...

Oi! I'm on there and I know about CPU's does that make me a geek?

Oh, OK. I'll get me coat :(

Sorry Don't think he's a geek really it's a lol moment.......

but still the fact that he just reels off all problems that people have on here as a whole and making out that he had the problems on his car is just plain rude!!

I think people on there will see through him and his false accusations.

Every car model has there problems, once you are on a site that tries to fix problems it does become concerning but to be honest if you don't have problems of your own you don't need to worry.

What you don't understand Chris, is that, Unlike everyone else on here, We've not driven every single car like Goochie has. My boss is getting this, my boss is getting that, can i beat my friends Polo etc. In order for us to comment, it's impossible.

I wish i'd driven every car.

The Fabia is a great little car, good at what it does, but if you mess with it, i.e. bigger exhaust or remap it, it gets better.

Same for the Octavia, when you put an exhaust on it, or remap it, it becomes great.

But can i point out, when you put an exhaust on, and want to cut the bumper, don't let Stevie Wonder do it. Ahem.....

I seem to think there are underlying issues....so you seem to be pointing out?
