How old are you? You actually post like you are around 12 years old. I'd suggest you get over yourself. And I don't drive a BMW.

Confirmed.

To those of you who slate BMW of today:

Have you driven enough of the new BMWs out there to justify your hate-filled statement on the brand based on a load of ret@rded BMW owners that are over there?

Because one thing is for certain...they are outstanding cars, and this I would know, having driven plenty of them in the past two years.

As for whoever brought up why Audi and Mercedes are never slated the way BMW is? That's because the star of the group is always the one to be picked on, and never the followers. Mercedes will never match up to the likes of BMW, and will never be able to create a match for any of BMWs performance cars without adding a supercharger to it, and Audi will always just be 3rd best. Needless to say, Audi make great cars...but they'll just never be 'BMW' like they want to be.

Mercedes will never match up to bmw

Mercedes are certainly higher up the food chain than BMW in my opinion.

Your opinion sucks.

Ridiculous.

Makes you wonder which car companies have the hardest job of shaking off an image.

On a PURELY car basis. M5 fantastic. They have ruined the 3 series though...last shape was nice New one looks like a Mitsubushi.I don't understand the 1 series at all, great car or not.Sorry

Yes the M5 is fantastic. You have to have the windows down a crack to hear that engine note in full  (although it

i don't usually get involved in these rants so all i'm saying is i'd go for m5 given the chance and i bet most people on here would aswell

Ive not driven an M series bmw to know how they go. On paper Ive owned cars with similiar 0-60 times to the M5 and they were exceptional fun. I remember back when I had that car in 98 ish it was quicker than the M3 of the time. I dont doubt it handled better as well, it was after all a rally car not a motorway car, I once had to use that car on a long distance run and hated the headache it gave me, the stiff back etc etc. However I wouldnt spend 60k to get the same performance again. My tastes and choices in cars though are however very heavily influenced by my motorsport - I use a rally car as a daily driver.

If I did have £60k to spend on a car and nothing better to do with the money, a M5 would probably not get a look in for me. Its just not in me at all to want that sort of vehicle. But then theres few standard road cars that have ever been my thing. Im used to cars that have been hand rebuilt from the ground up by skilled professionals, rather than nailed to gether on a factory line. Ive had really bad luck when ever I have brought brand new cars :(

If I had £60k to spend on a company car and thus HAD to buy a new car maybe the M5 would be a serious contender. If its not my money and I cant spend it as I want, then I would make do with what I could get.

At the end of the day I prefer stealth in a road car not bling, I prefer built by hand to my specifications, and I prefer set up for me. I do however accept that I am completely in the minority here having had several cars built up from bare shells.

Its also worth noting I live in Devon we have one motorway and that only leads out of Devon. I dont often do the sort of driving that BMWs are built for. Its bound to have an influence on my opinion of them.
