DVD on skoda DX screen

Featured Replies

Hi guy's,

Picked my superb up last week and is great. Every one who has been in it just can't believe it's a skoda!

I've only had one problem so far. Unfortunately it feels like the brake discs are warped. Have done a few hundred miles but no change. Hopefully sorting this as we speak. So far White Dove have been very helpful. Hope it lasts.

I would really like to add a dvd to the car. From reading other posts it seems to be possible but what exactly d I need? I'd like it to play through sat nav screen but may add screens in the head rests later. Would also like a player that will fit in the gap below the cd changer.

Thanks

Ben.

my advice try another dealer the one you mention aint the best at being helpful

where you based

I would also like to know about adding a dvd to the dx unit, and spookily enough my car went in this morning for warped discs also, which they told me were only slightly warped but probably accepatable until the next service!

I'd be interested as well in DVD, and even the TV Unit. I know that possible, but never seen it done.

Based in Hereford, so no where near White Dove but bought the car from them, so will give them the chance to fix the problem 1st.

Nearest dealer is Bay Horse who are even worse.

You need a dietz 1212 (I think that's the right model) unit to connect a video source to the MFD. These among others do them: SatNav Systems

Eddie is right here and a good source of information can be found on www.vwNavi.com

Setting this up is simple, you can pretty much wire any DVD player into the Dietz which plugs into the AUX port on your DX unit and then this allows you to select the AUX source on the Audio menu and 'bobs your uncle' you will be able to play DVD's.

As for the monitors in the headrests, would look great but would need to be properly wired in through the headrests to look proper OEM!!

I was considering this too. 2 options really, 1 is to buy the Dietz at £120 ish and then get a cheap portable dvd player for about £20 and put it in your glovebox. The other is to pay around £400 for the changer is the boot.

Not to worried about those in the back, they're only paying customers:D

The main reason for wanting it is to pass the time whilst waiting for late passengers. I wouldn't like to count the ammount of hours I've spent waiting at heathrow for delayed flights!

I think a chip might be on the cards 1st though. Have read lots on here and other forums about them. AMD seem to come highly reccomended. A friend of mine who works at Audi has always used REVO and had no problems. Any thoughts and experiences? good or bad! I'm in Hereford if that makes any difference. Might be somewhere else worth a try.

Don't know anything about Revo or any chips or remaps mate as I have too many miles on the clock to look into it but others on the forum will know I am sure.......
