How long was delivery of the item btw?

About three weeks although it did take a while for them to get their finger out and send the bloomin' things!!. Two out of the three sailed through customs at this end but one got stung for a further

A little too often actually.

Guys we have a TRUE cold air intake at Forge

This is one of the early ones fitted to our Golf V, we will have in a month a fully CNC mandrel bent intake , it will be available from Forge ( 10 % BRISKODA discount ) or our dealers.

In our early test and development any filter located in the engine bay lost power .

The Forge intake is directly in the air flow at the front of the car

Of course Skospares have a VRS engine cover ;)

I'm one step ahead of you there my good man.

I'm not saying that one is better than another. I think I saw one of the development ones at Trax on your Golf.

THe EVOMS uses a box to exclude it from the engine bay and utilises the original intake mouth to funnel the air in. It shouldn't suffer from any more heatsoak than the one you feature.

Low intakes still scare me due to water intake.

I would much prefer the intake under the bonnet in a heatsheild and loose a few bhp than run .he risk of knackering the engine,

Well they had one :P

How did you get on with the dealer down there by the way?

Yeah I bought the cover on Monday and collected this afternoon.

Interesting to find that the car is ex Hampshire Local Authority ;) .

The Skoda dealer seemed very helpful actually, first impressions and all that.

Ex Hampshire LA... I wondered where that one on the M27/M3 had gone, did notice the light kit enabled MK II hadn't been around for a while.

I assume that is the one you are talking about.

I don't think it was the only one they had.

Low mileage on this one, lot of holes and a number on the roof as well as lots of holes drilled in the dash etc.

Damage doesn't initially look that bad but it's a bit of a strange one.

I was going to say the pics didn't look that crashed so I was very surprised to see it a write off.

It doesn't look too bad but it's had a large whack on the end of nearside sill behind the wheel.

Police cars aren't insured so they must have considered it un-economical.

What happens if it gets stolen? :)
