EVOMS Air Induction Kit

Featured Replies

Has anyone tried one on their TFSI?

I'm thinking of getting one soon, and wondered what peoples opinions were compared to the Neuspeed kit or a Carbonio & filter job bearing in mind this is nearly twice the price of the Neuspeed.

It looks pretty much the same but it does include some heatshielding.

Looks very tidy

I take it Stu has enlightened you more about this from his PM. The EVOM intake kit, especially with the engine cover and heat shield looks and sound pretty good

As this news has now 'broken', would anyone be interested in a GB if the pricing was right?

The EVOMS kit consists of the intake, a heat shield and a replacement engine cover.

Made out of brushed aluminum this simple yet effective heat shield will mount to your vehicle utilizing the rear mounting pegs that the factory engine cover sits on. It's designed to block the heat rising from the exhaust manifold and the turbo. Resulting in lower intake temperatures and more power.

Our VW MKV Aluminum engine cover will allow you to keep the OEM engine cover look while still utilizing an aftermarket intake system.

PLASTIC OEM CENTER PIECE NOT INCLUDED

Made out of high qualilty steel and powder coated black, this engine cover is very durable and will withstand the elements as well as the harsh environment of the engine compartment.

Please PM me if you would like a rough idea of price.

It does look well tidy and I think I will definately be having one.

Not massively keen on the new engine cover tho. I think the Neuspeed carbon fiber cover will fit in conjunction with the EVOMS, which should look quite tidy. I could mod the original cover and tart it up a bit tho :rubchin:

The parts are available seperately.

The Neuspeed should fit as the design is similar but it's fecking expensive.

It's not a good idea to mod the original as they are v-expensive to replace - I checked!!

I'm in too (although I live in Greece).

I'd like 2 c more pics though of an RS with the CAI installed.

It's not a true CAI as the filter is still within the engine bay instead of down by the wheelarch. It's classed as a short-ram intake but they are pretty much the same.

Stu what are the details so I can get my order in :D

I'm still discussing the shipping costs at the moment but the kit price is very favourable.

Excellent. Thanks for taking the time to check this out for us

Ok, I'm not going to turn this into a GB, if anyone wants one PM me and I'll put you in touch with the company. The prices are as follows -

Intake - $240

Heat Shield - $25

Engine Cover - $80

Shipping for a whole kit - $65

I can't say how long these prices will last for nor can I say that you won't have to pay customs however the seller has been fully appraised of the situation.

Today the

I know these things are often pie in the sky and believe of it what you will but here is the manufacturer's claims (Wheel Horsepower) -

Thanks Stu.

As you can see, the price of this kit is very competitive compared to what UK dealers are wanting as seen HERE.

Now is a great time to grab one whilst the exchange rate is favourable.

I am off to the states again and intend on bringing plenty of mk5 stuff back in my empty bags :D

RZ are doing these as well Stu, now I am back up and running and not coughing my last breath I will do some serious digging if you want

I was talking to my carbon guy and am trying to tie him down on a price to make a carbon engine cover, he does bike stuff mostly. More as / if it happens.

I think I'm gonna get one of these to have a look at Tony.

I'm not sure there is anything else on the list just yet for me (Cough) but I'm sure others might be grateful of your efforts :P

Keith in Orlando is going to speak to the boss to see about squeeeeeeezing more discount .....

EVOMS looks good because of the included heatshield etc, I have a heatshield mounted below my carbonio now made of carbon with aluminium tape on the underside. Wierd stuff though, I am now starting to get the mysterious loss of boost that has a effected a few others near the top of the range, it's never happened before. I wonder how forge are getting on with there full replacement part for the oem dv?

Just heard back that the supplier will take payment via PayPal if that helps as well.

There is nothing mysterious about a hole in the Diverter valve diaphram :)

Spoke to richard at forge yesterday, They are currently testing prototypes on there mkv Gti, but still have some issues.

Some of you know already, fitted the EVOM this week and after a few teething problems all seems to be well but only after adjusting Boost and Timing to 8 & 4 respectively. Gained a healthy 10bhp over previous which surprised everybody including me.

One word of warning though, it does seem to enhance a very slight 'dip' between 4,000rpm and 5,000rpm but it seems that this is quite a common trait of the 2.0T FSI but not worth worrying about too much though.

A few piccy's...............................oh and btw, 'dip' seems to have been eliminated

Would that be the high pressure fuel pump the vortexians are talking about?

Very tidy result. Did u RR the 10 hp difference?

As Steve says now it has settled the 'dip' has levelled a bit.

Most of the BWA engine's I've seen on the Dyno produce a very slight dip shortly after peak power.
