Wouldnt mind a REAL felicia convertible myself, no idea how they drove, Might need a bit of 120 power. I did like the S110r Drive :D

Have any of you had a Felicia like this??:)

This car was once local to me , it belonged to a man from Crookham , Northumberland , and has now been purchased (along with a non running S110R) by a Briskoda member called 'oldfelisia'.

PS the pic was taken on the Skoda owners club stand at Mellerstain House Classic car show (near Duns , Berwickshire) some time in the 1990s.

havent had one but that was what I was referring to beautifull looking car.

Oh Yes......

Born in Harrogate, lived in Scarborough till 21 - then moved to Sunderland (Poly - planned a 5 year max move - was in North East for 11 years). Then Cambridgeshire 6 years ago, but due to move to the North West within 2 weeks. I get around a lot

My mothers family were Geordies - imagine the shock when I started supporting Sunderland....

Anyway back on topic

My late father's side of the family are Czech - so regular (2 - 3 times a year) visits to Czech - last one just before chrimbo. Outside Praha (Prague) castle, 2 guys were doing cheaufer tours of Praha in old Felicia Cabrios like the one above. A bit too cold at the time (-5 c) but they were charging less than

I think a trip to Prague would be great , I'd come home with lots of pics of cars and a hangover...lol

In March 1990 we bought our brand new Maroon Favorit LX, reg G23 LUM. We did well over 100k miles in GLUM, but she has now gone to car park in the sky. The showroom one I saw first in Sheffield in 89 was dark blue. I still like the Maroon colour, but most of the rest were hideous, and the white was a bit anaemic looking..sort of 'trade brilliant white'.

First trip out in GLUM was a run up Wensleydale for a walk next to the River Ure with our two year old son. Had a tape of Eric Claptons 'Journeyman' in the car I think. Remember it like it was yesterday. Loved that little car.

Alfie 168 (with nostaligia button stuck in 'on' position)

I rally a mk1 favorit due to the better handling and acceleration :D Its my favourite out fo the favorit felicia range, not as powerful as my old skoda trophy felicia, but more fun to drive, a bit more tail happy and bit more chuckable :D.

Are there pics?

Got pictures of both which do you want?

Heres a video of the favorit at a start line:-

Favorit

best to right click and save as.

The High RPM start was the request of the cameraman, The shades are not to look cool, it was a bright sunny day and as with a lot of the rally cars the roll cage prevents the use of sun visors and on enduro rallying theres a really nasty reg about the maximum depth of sun strips :(.

Here's a question for you. Did Skoda ever rally the Favorit and if they did, or anyone else for that matter, how did they strengthen the body shell i.e. seam welding ect.

Did skoda ever rally the favorit? VERY successfully, took the world 2litre cup in 1994 - with a 1300 engine breathing through carbs! The also placed about 3 years in a row :D not seen a works car in the flesh although my own rally car is one number off one of john haughlands cars :D.

I couldnt swear to the specifics of what SMS did, it would be a normal seamweld gusset in places and rollcage job though. The guys who built the works bodyshells still do it for privateers, quite reasonably priced as well.

Nice to see the old 'uns still turning up in good condition trev! Any pics?

:) Any Favorit [or any Skoda, but especially Favorit] enthusiasts should visit Stanford Hall, Leicestershire on May 13th. It's an Eastern European event organised by the I.F.A. Club and as usual Skoda Owners' Club G.B. will be there. We are celebrating 20 years of the FWD Favorit, with prizes for the best on show.
