If you ever see a white vRS round nottingham its probably me, giveaway is the blueflame exhaust and xenons, although boy racers still think its a cop car anyway!!!! That and the fact it gets driven l

Hants do have a number of marked and unmarked Mk 1's, and Mk 2's have now started to be issued. They rotate them every once in a while so they do not become too familiar. Some other depts have been blessed with the odd unmarked one for alternate work. Have a mate who drives a marked on in the south of the county, and has tried mine, and comparing, he said that the one he drives, isn't chipped. Can't be sure about the traffic ones though, can't see them being different though.

You will see them racing around the M27 a lot, as the driving school have some, and that will be part of their training area.

I myself work for the police, and have just purchased one of our ex-traffic VRS's. I cant get any information out of the traffic guys as to whether or not the performance has been increased in any way. When I was showing it off to a mate, he said it was much quicker than a standard one which he had tried (i've never tried one I KNOW to be standard)

Yesterday I took it to Jabba who hooked a laptop up to it in an attempt to tell me what, if anything had been done. They informed me that, and I quote "it has had something done to it, but it wont let us read the information so we are unable to tell you exactly what"

The only way I will know is if I go on the rollers

What's the procedure involved in purchasing one of the ex-traffic ones?

I'm taking it as obviously you have to work for the Police, but what else is involved and is it pretty straight forward or a good idea?

Police auctions are a good bet, keep an eye out on autotrader website and mag for dates, and go on expolicecar.co.uk or something, they have allsorts of cop cars.

Thanks

Leicestershire have a black Octavia vRS, 51 reg, unmarked.

Often seen parked up at Leicester Forest East Services plus what I guess are high speed training exercises with two marked cars on the M1.

The Herts police have a few unmarked black mk1 vRS's, a few of my mates have been pulled by them!!!

The local cops always wave at me..........................mine being black haha

theres 3 unmarked octavia vrs's in hereford, 2 silver and 1 black, maybe even a green 1.

I think there are 2 unmarked vRS's in Hull. They have a black one and a silver one.

Cheers

ex police cars from lots of forces end up at west oxford motor auctions in whitney oxford

woma.co.uk

two auctions a month for police cars

They are indeed remapped. Apologies - I hadn't spotted this thread when I started this one a while ago.

Anyone seen a liveried MkII yet? Are there any or are they just unmarked ones?

Hi Guys

West Midlands have a fair few MK2's marked up in battenburgs, havn't yet seen an unmarked though?

Must be moving away from unmarked vehicles for some reason?

Cheers

Marc

Humberside have marked Octy II estates and un marked Octy I and II saloons.

I was driving up the M1 last Wednesday aft and saw the following:

Octy Mk 1 - black

2 x Golf GTI - both black

Seat Leon Cupra R - black

Vectra - Silver

a Transit Van - Silver

All unmarked and going like the clappers!

On the tuning side of things, when I bought mine from a dealer down here he mentioned that they had the contract for the local police force for modifying and maintaining their fleet of Skodas...

hi mike,

We were driving back from picking my vrs up and saw those. All going like stink. Had to wonder where??

BTW saw the unmarked silver octy VRS in the centre of hull today. Does anyone know what the little ball like things on the roof are for??

Cheers

Watch out in Somerset and Devon, as well as the usual marked Octavias, there are unmarked Silver ones and Blue ones. Usual giveaway is the extra aerials and usually an extra mirror above the passenger door mirror. Oh yeh and 2 big blokes with size 12 feet in "matching" white short sleeve shirts. Other signs are shaved heads and/or a liking for donuts.

I have seen a MKI Octavia vRS in Hudderfield a few times.

:cop: :cop: Kent police have a good mix of MK1 Vrs and the odd Mk2 but they seem to be going for the MK2 4X4 TDi as responce cars and dog vehicles. I have spoken to my Kent colleges and they love them. (Only wish my force would see the light..........):cop: :cop:

Can you get two decent size dog cages in an octavia? We use the citroen dispatch vans for dogs (German Sheperd on the bottom, drugs dog on top), new Astra for the new response cars and the statutory volvos for traffic. I was on a traffic attachment when we tested the Subaru Forrester 4x4 (with the impreza engine) it was fantastic but the traffic sgt didnt like it so we stuck to the volvos :(

I'm North Yorks by the way.

weve got two silver unmarked cars ,they go like stink too which is why i brought one:)

Must be three at least - the one i spotted up by the sewage works ( hartshill- A5) a darker shade-
