Octavia Police cars -

Featured Replies

If you see one with four white shirts in it (black or silver at the moment), its a training school car looking for someone to chase for the practice.

If we do see them, and we do something to make them chase us, can we say that we were only playing and that we know you then?:D

Today I saw a Silver Octavia vRS on the A34, to the west of Oxford. It had the lights at the bottom of the rear window and was being driven by Pat from Road Wars of old. Is it a good idea to put the reg. on here?

There's atleast 1 unmarked black mk1 vRS prowling Salisbury Plain and the A303. My mate has memorised the reg now that he's seen it so many times. Most police cars around the plain are fat spazzy 4x4's so you can normally ignore them, but that black octy haunts my dreams!

The A360 from Salisbury to Devizes is the best road in the world! But it's claimed 2 cars off me, and left me with a few scars. Mind you, I could drive it with my eyes closed now. We live and learn.... (normally the hard way!)

Agree, Kent Police vRS's are not re-mapped (according to my retired copper mate). Most likely this will vary by county/force. I've seen a dark blue or black unmarked vRS on the M3 Basingstoke to Winchester (guess it's the one already mentioned).

Kent's marked cars are usually silver, cos they were struggling to sell on the white cars a few years ago. There are some mk2 marked octy's but there seem to be a lot more of police fabia's on the road these days. The dog-handler in Folkestone has a octy.

Apparently Hants police are swapping the petrol volvo pursuit cars for diesel Beemers as they'll save about

Wouldn't mind some covert lights for clearing the road...!!

Watch out for that one, my mate recently got done for having blue flashing lights in his grille. It was just a joke to everone who knew (due to the crappy little car they were on), but the coppers didn't see the funny side...

Tunbridge Wells (right opposite where I work) have a couple of Mk1 vRS estates but they don't seem to have the vRS badge on the grille, there's 4 Mk2s which I believe are the 4x4's and some Fabia estates too.

Apparently Kent police don't remap their marked cars but they do beef up the rear suspension to cope with all the gear in the estate boot.

I saw this one in Vilnius, Lithuania.

We hadn't been stopped; we stopped behind where he was parked to ask directions. SWMBO is useful when she can speak their language!

PSNI (Police Service Northern Ireland) is replacing almost all their Vectra B's with Octavias. Most are diseasals, 2.0TDI 140PS. They're much preferred by the drivers than the Vectra C's (1.9CDTi-150 and 2.2Direct).

There's a number of vRS, mostly TFSI used in various driving school roles. The fast persuit and tactical persuit guys have new Vectra C 2.8T-V6's though. They're running 280PS

that cumbria cop car looks really sweet
