Mk1 Octy VRS economy / range

Featured Replies

Folks,

I'm thinking about buying the above car and wanted to know what people are getting MPG wise and how many miles you can get from a full tank?..obviously this varies between town/motorway etc but an idea of an average would be

TIA

Chris

On average I get around 380-420 miles from a tank of BP Ultimate :)

The car is totally standard - I've heard remapped ones can get better MPG...

The most I've ever had is 320 miles from a tank. This was whilst trying really hard to drive economically

otherwise:

Under 20 for extremely hard B-road driving

Low 20's MPG for town driving

High 20's for brisk back road driving

39 - 41MPG on a motorway at 70mph.

Nice one guys.

I was anticipating the sort of figures that Phil said so thats good.

cheers

Chris

Thinking about it - the 420 figure is pretty rare and achieved on good clear motorway runs. It tends to come in around 390 to 400 - but as Phil rightly points I live in a land of inclines and not hills! :D

whaaaaat, i average about 300 miles to a tank of v power!

I can typically get about 380 - 400 miles to a tank.

Vehicle is chipped (APR 95ron) with Forge DV valve, TIP and CAI.

Drops quite a bit if you straighten your right foot though (and the scenery gets blurry) :D

The majority of my mileage is on Motorways allowing higher than average motorway speeds:thumbup: and on my 23 mile blast to work I am constantly geting better than 32mpg. On more relaxed journeys I am getting better than 35 and I don't think I have ever managed to get it to drop much below 30. At best I have just managed to top 40mpg.

This is one of the reasons I migrated from my 2 Imprezas as on the bug eye modle with Prodrive Performance Pack (240 bhp) I struggled to get more than 23mpg.

I know my vRS is not modified but in real world every day driving terms ain't a lot slower, and is much cheaper to run. I do miss the 4 wheel drive at times though!

So to sum up...between 30 and 40 and thats on 95 octane fuel

29.8 mpg overall - a mixture of motorway, town and country road driving.

Same here.

I get approx. 330 miles to a full tank, which costs approx. £48 up here on Shell Super! Thats a mixture of motorway, country roads and town roads.

cheers everyone:D

better than the 22mpg I'm getting out of my beemer;) ..but then thats only 2b expected.

cheers

Chris

Almost all my driving is motorway and I always get over 400 miles per tank.......comp is currently showing an ongoing average of 41.8.

I did once get 460 miles out of a tank, but then i did get 54.9l in (and I have to confess I was sweating - the distance to empty had been on 0 for a while!!).

I've averaged 35mpg over the 50k miles I've had the car (factory standard). If you doodle along at 65 on the motorway, you can get the computer to 45mpg, at 90 it's more like 32mpg.

:iagree:

I only manage about 220 miles on a full tank

Usually get to around 290/300 miles when the fuel light comes on. I keep trying to get more but temptation gets the better of me sometimes.:D

I found my mpg dropped a little when I put 225 tyres on.

Re-map hasn't made any difference to mpg, but that might be my fault.:o

What's the tank capacity? Lost in France in 2005, just made it off an 'A' road (no gas stations anywhere) in the middle of nowhere:

I got approx 35mph overall on a 2500 mile trip, including the Autobaaaaaaaaaaaaahns in Germany :)

Dude, 35mph on an Autobahn! ;)

Freudian clutch slip - I meant 35MPG doh!!!

(The G and H keys are close together...)

Just for the record, the official figures are

Around Town: 26.2 mpg

Combined Cycle: 35.3 mpg

Long runs: 44.1 mpg

2 days till I collect mine, so I won't have any real numbers for a while.

Not that any of us have ever reached 90mph ;o)

Pretty much exactly what i get from mine

i average 260 to a tank, thats a mix of 1/2 of the time taking it v.easy, 1/4 of the time driving with the traffic and 1/4 of the time absolutly beasting it over the country lanes.

i struggle to get the average trip for a tank to read better than 28mpg but i do live in a very hilly area.

all i know is that i put 45 euro in mine, it lasts two weeks and i only get 200 miles!!! :( ....thats why its going!!
