cambelt and waterpump.?

I think it's fairly well recommended on here to get them done together as it's a known weak point, having plastic blades which are prone to breaking up - can be replaced with an aftermarket metal unit fairly cheaply.

I'll certainly be insisting on a change when my cambelt is due.

When considering price, don't forget that Skoda dealers in Europe offer a 12-month warranty on all genuine parts from the date of installation or sale.

i would recommend not getting a standard water pump as they have a plastic impellor which is a bit pants and can either break or simply come away fromt eh brass shaft. for less than the price of a standard pump i got a first line pump which is all metal :)

why they don't fit all metla pumps as standard i don't know

thats exactly the same as my local dealer (chequered flag in attleborough) quoted me for the same work.

Yes I had mine done at a main dealer too Mitchells on the Wirral.

I phoned around both other dealers and independents and Mitchels came out the cheapest at

The parts you require can be obtained from any Accessory or parts shops

Waterpump p/no is

fwp1805 for Firstline for about £45-50

qcp3306 q/hazel for about same price

t/belt

5491xs for belt from Gates

k025491xs for belt kit from gates OE to most car manufacturers along with

Dayco and Contitec makes

Again you can buy with confidence cause all these makes will guarantee there product and if they fail they will refund all expences for damage caused

Any parts desk outwith dealers will either stock these or have an equiv to these numbers

No! I was charged no extra labour for fitting a waterpump that I supplied when I had my cambelt done at DM Kieth Skoda in Huddersfield.

Ask if the labour will increase if you supply the pump, because it shouldn't really considering once the belt is off it's easy.
