GTi International May '04,BRISKODA Display

Featured Replies

Is anyone planning on going to this event?

if so anyone think we could sort something with the organizers along the lines of having a area for some of our fine cars, like they do with the Seat Clubs and the Club GTi etc

your comments on this idea most welcome

Alex,

Personally I don't know much or do shows as such, however it migth be a thing BRISKODA can do...if sufficient members would display and attend to warrant costs/efforts...

Open to all forms of events and days out, so feel free to offer up / get a ball rolling.

Graeme (fab16v) would be a good person to talk to about this - IIRC his old furby was on display there last year alongside some VWs....

Memory ain't what it used to be, so you'll have to wait for G to show up and add more details... :)

I was indeed! ;)

Was thinking of going again this year, but unfortunately, they have decided to make it invitation only! The invited clubs only getting an allocated number of plots at a cost of 25 notes each!

This is a real shame as the show itself is a great day out with sprints, show and shine, trade stands etc...

If anyone would like to know more, then the web addy is www.gtiinternational.co.uk

The other 'event' that could be a good one to do is Run to the Sun at Newquay in May. Been the last few years and had an absolute ball down there. Last year it took us over ten hours to get down there in a 30bhp camper.

Andy

Run to the sun is good - I'll join the convoy at Okehampton on the way down... :D

Regarding GTI International though, if it was in the summer I'd be tempted to be a showpiece. The car should be might fine by that time.

(but the invite only thing seems a little weird? I take it briskoda's not been given any then... :()

The web site does say that if you are a VW club without an invite you can e-mail thew organisers. I wonder if we qualify

Just say you read it as VAG, not VW... Anyway, if Graeme got in OK back a while, I don't see why the organisers would be anti-Skud again...

Have been told by the chaiman of the VAG club I'm in that he could put another stand in under the banner (e1k-Briskoda) Could be a way round the problem, but will have to be quick as the forms have to be in soon! ;)

I have just sent an e-mail to the organisers about the possibility of some space for a stand. Shall wait and see what the results are!

I should be there with AmD.

Hopefully going to be displaying my car :)

Another idea for Briskoda Colin... The monthly cheshire VAG meet, its getting quite a big event these days. would possibly be worth getting a few cars together to pop down. doesnt cost anything except a sunday afternoon of tyre kicking.

Agree, to both topics raised. Been busy and away this week, as I said before, but didn't...oops. Feel free to kick off talks, if anything is needed from an official Briskoda capacity, copy email to webmaster@

No idea what goes on outthere in terms of displays and meets etc, so help me out and lets show some polished skuds off :D

Would be up for the cheshire vag one month, just need to find 2 mins to rediscover the site ;)
