Featured Replies

hey my renewal is up on the vrs and im strugglin to a quote better than

Ouch thats very high your going to have to earn nearly £1,500 before tax to cover that cost....

I use elephant/admiral/bell direct and play as many as possible off each other.

One piece of advice put your mother as a named driver this will reduce your premium by easily £150 per year.

Enjoy those savings and have a nice weekend away in Bansko Bulgeria.

Consider yourself lucky. I had to pay £1700 for my first year with a 1.4 16v and then £600 for my second year. I'm struggling to get a better quote than £545 for my third year, and that's with 3 years no claims (Got a bonus 2 year with tesco in the first year).

I'd hate to think what insurance would be on a vRS for myself.

Give Barclays a go if you haven't already, they were the folks that offered it me for £545

adrian flux and chris nott mate first try moneysupermarket.com

i am 24 3yrs no claims risk 10 area no garage and mine 690 lol:eek:

Direct Line were the best for me. The free insurance I got for a week from Skoda (Zurich) quoted me £800 for the vRS. I'm paying £420 with Direct Line.

I laughed when he read me out my quote at Zurich. The chap on the other end wasn't impressed. :)

I phoned loads of companies this week and Chris Knott undercut the best of them by a considerable margin.

Do Adrian Flux and Chris Knott have some type of age prejudice? 20, 3 years no claims, kept on driveway and a 1.4 16v, £1300!

Edit: Granted I will be 21 when I have to renew.

Give esure a try. They were just over half the cost of Direct Line. When I picked up my vRS this week, the salesman couldn't believe how low the premium was -

alot of help guys but most of the companies you named iv tried and they all say that on the vrs i hav to be 21.

Im waiting to get in touch with chris knott but adrian flux wanted 2500. admiral are my cheapest at 1006

Admiral were cheapest for me aswell. elephant and bell were around the same, but i think there part of the same company?

most other companies wouldnt insure me on a vrs but admiral would

im 19 with pass plus, been driving a year and half, 0ncb and paying £1495.47 :(

I use swift cover! their completely online.

i was 24 with 6 points 4yrs no claims and on a brand new octavia vrs tdi pd with 18''s i got a fully comp quote of 450! i'm laughing! everyone else i tried wanted over 1k!!!!!

Yup soon as I added my wife on the insurance my premium dropped by

I'm with Bell for about a grand on a vRS

The long and the short of things its not cheap. Young people like us get stung for insurance, and for good reason too.

£1000 as the main driver on a vRS for a 20year old male is good, female im not sure on prices but i'd imagine thats good too :)

Down to where you live too remember, mine was more than £1500 and i have 1yrs ncb and pass pluss under my belt. Nevermind.

I bought the VRS because of the low insurance group! I had a 406 2.2 diesel before which was costing me too much. Buying the VRS dropped my premium to just over £300 (with Direct Line).

sorry but none of the above companies could come close to admiral. i well wanted it below 1000 too. neva mind eh

Yeah put ur mum as a named driver, with you as the policy holder. I'm 20 and I had a clio 1.5 DCi 80, insurance for me was £840 with Admiral, put my mum as a second driver brought it down to £705! Strange how insurance works...

At 18, had my Fabia vRS, 1,500...
