Hi

Interesting responses. Where can I get more info on blueflame exhausts and does anyone know if they do one for the 4x4 1.8T estate.

Eagerly awaiting your replys,

Steve.

Steve.

Bengie (a fellow briskodian) has a 4x4 with a blueflame exhaust. One thing I would say it that his is very loud inside the car. I know he was looking at ways to improve this though.

I'm sure he will be along this evening to share some thoughts ;)

Sounds a bit cheap to me. Is it a complete system? What grade stainless is it? I am going to assume 304 grade for the majority and 316 for the back box.

My car has got a complete Haywood & Scott full stainless system. It's been on the car for over 110k and is still solid as you like.

A full system however is approx

Blueflame make exhausts for TVR (or used to anyhoo).

I have one, it is quiet as anything driving normallybut sounds awesome when booting it without being loud.

There is a reason not one of the major or minor TUNERS in UK sell Customs

WHY??

Stick with Miltec/ Supersprint / Jetex / Scorpion ect especially Miltec / Supersprint as these 2 systems have been designed from the ground up for each car application not just a box welded to pipes because that box fits the gap under the car.

They also have been Tuv approved and E approved and are Mot and road Legal certified for db levels unlike customs.

Buy in confidence and enjoy driving knowing it aint going to fall to bits in a year

A question about other stainless steel exhausts ie miltek, blue flame, super sprint etc,

Do they all do away with the centre box and just increase the bore size to 2 1/2" - 3" and only supply a rear silencer.

I only ask as I have been surfing trying to find some more info on buying one to fit my 4x4 1.8T estate and they all seem to be like this.

Also my exhaust exits under the car with the tailpipes aiming at the road so the back box is out of sight and no cut out in the rear bumper. I can not find any of the reputed suppliers to do this, they only list rear exiting exhausts like the VRS. Thats fine but I dont realy want to get into cutting the rear bumper.

The supersprint website shows an estate with a rear exiting exhaust under the bumper, thats fine if they are all like that.

Sorry for all the questions,

Any info will be greatly received,

thanks,

Steve.

A BIG vote from me for blueflame - they did a custom one on my 4x4 octy and the quality of work and materials is superb for the money!

The added beauty of the blueflame system is they will customise it to how you want ie if you want it quieter they can add an additional silencer and there is a choice of tail pipe designs also (although they kept mine looking standard by sweeping them downwards just like the standard item - sleeper stylee).

I havent looked back since I got mine fitted about a year ago now. :D

Try fleabay for Blueflame, there is a bloke on there that does them cheap.

I've had the Blueflame system fitted for 15 months. Excellent mate, you won't go wrong with these.

Don't mess with fleebay, get it custom built & fitted. Mention Briskoda, you may even get a discount. :)

No good as he drives a 4x4 - these are custom made at their premises :)

I think you'll find none of those manufacturers you mention actually do an exhaust to fit the 4x4. Custom is the only choice, again I went with blueflame, quality of the exhaust was excellent, however there were some issues with bad installation due to them reusing gaskets and leaving one of the fittings off.

I've literally just got back from Hayward & Scott to discuss options for my 4x4. For the cat back only, they quote

You will find that the estate Supersprint is available for the hatch with vrs style pipe (no bumper mods) needed.

The diam for the 4x4 is 2.5" mid and rear a 3" is 2 big unless your kicking out well over 300hp

P/no 887613 mid

p/no 887633 90deg adaptor

p/no 887609 rear box

Because the Supersprint system is so well engineered its will most likely be quieter than a B/Flame with a mid fitted

A question I have for everyone is the cat-conversion, which H&S will do for another

There's no downpipe at all though and the cat replacement is a decat. It also has less silencers than the blueflame.

Also I am kicking out well over 300bhp. ;)

I've got the 100-cell cat. Blueflame guarantee it will pass the MOT ,,,,,, and it did!

Mine too.

And mine. Can't recommend them enough tbh.

Thats a pitty cause s/sprint do a racing system 70mm for the Leon 4x4 turbo but unfortunatly not for the Skodas.

If your car is running over 350hp why not ask Jabba or Star performance what they fit to cars with that sort of power as i think even 2.5" systems will be enough for 3-320 hp but obviously they will have a solid answer.

Jabba recommend Blueflame AFAIK for the 4x4, no idea what Star use, never heard of them doing an Octavia 4x4.

I'm running a blueflame system but the downpipe and cat were replaced with a JBS custom item. It's running over 350bhp and 2.5" isn't enough.

Exhausts are a nightmare.

Got a stainless for my Clio 172 - it boomed and power dropped.

I must've read 3 pages of Briskoda 'exhaust' threads and I'm still unsure.

£600+ is a fair amount to worry about spending on the wrong exhaust.

Anyway it feels like Friday and if anyone has a CAI and exhaust for a 4X4 that sounds like this PLEASE let me know....

This is one fantastic sounding Audi 1.8T

Have good one folks!

 I thought all the cars had stainless exhausts from new ? I am sure my 2000 Ocy TDi has one fitted, I will have to look underneath ! :)

Not all cars have stainless as standard. What is common though is aluminium-plated mild steel systems (so if you're used to plain painted mild steel, I can see where confusion might arise).
