Extensive Fabia vRS modding in progress (-:

Lowered, wait for it, the driver's seat - may raise it tomorrow

Miller's Diesel Power Plus - container put in boot

OEM air filter fitted (OK, replaced). Thinking of dyeing it green so I'll go faster.

Emptied ashtray - thanks Devonutopia for tips about reducing weight.

Removed stones from tyres (as above)

Turned ext mirrors in a bit to reduce drag (can now see I'd better get my hair cut)

Applied Rain Repellant to windows (as above, also reduces weight)

Burned two more CDs for in car CD (goes against weight reduction - but oh hell) - might dangle them from mirror to save the weight of the jewel cases

Reduced whining and mooing from rear - refused to take Mother-in-Law out again (huge weight reduction + car sits straighter - less drag).

Remapping - yes, going to replace the old AA in the glovebox for something lighter.

Next week - cleaning inside windows, reduce weight, every little helps.

Thinking about really going for it now - reducing number of pens in car to one, to further reduce weight, what do you think ?

Hoping to get the 0-60 (kph) figures down to around 5 to 6 seconds. Worried the DMF and the standard clutch might not be able to take the strain though.

Thinking of putting it on rolling road but worried the car mightn't fit on the Town Centre escalators.

Tried to make a SEAT strut brace but park benches are so hard to take apart.

eBay lowering springs - I asked em but they declined.

the makings of a new mongrel? lol

Getting your hair cut will also reduce weight.

So will wearing out the tyres, which specifically reduces unsprung weight, and also lowers the car, so that's 3 gains at once!

You've been on the 'sauce' at lunch time havent you??:P

Go for a poo before a drive, that'll improve power to weight.

While your there you might as well drive in the nude:thumbup:

Damn! Beaten to it

Don't forget to fold the back seats flat ;)

That too, and push the front passenger seat back as far as it will go.

Thanks for comments everyone.

Wondering about the rolling road - worried I might get a NIP - though that would lighten the wallet.

Naturally, I'd shave, have a dump, drive in the nude (not a pretty sight).

Been wondering about nitrous oxide - make the inside of the car lighter, but might make me laugh too much.

And, no, the drinking was Wed night -- and I suffered Thursday good style.

Just thought - if I buy 5 space-savers, that'd bring the weight down nicely.

Could use methane instead as a no-added-weight option.

How does that go with smoking, and the nitrous ?

Sides, I thought if I produced the methane myself it might be the 'greener' option (careful to make sure the dump valve is working properly of course, even though I Scotchguarded the seats).

What's with the new head units people install ?

I mean putting a dirty great big urinal in is going to counter all the weight savings - decisions, decisions.

PS

Thought about the Jabba ARB but George Lucas says he'll be needing it for the 'Attack of the Mad Modder' film.

Do away with the head unit and speakers altogether and just sing your way along

Good idea - should clear the roads for miles around too, great for fuel consumption.

Don't forget to remove the head rests and the wheel bolt caps:rofl:

Bimbo or Minter's - which will give the best 'feel' ?

Schwarz - what about if I remove the wheel nuts ?

NOS isn't a good idea as the cylinder weighs about 8 kg and once full, there's be an extra 5kg of gas in it. :) Totally defies the weight thing. :P

Why fold the seats flat when a couple of shoves with a flat screwdriver and a quick tug ( ) gets them right out the car. Would a quick tug be another weight saving idea?!:rofl:

Come again.

Is this in reference to the Bimbo or Minter's ?

I'm all in favour, anyway (-:

Yeah why not, surely super glue would do the trick!!!

Worried the mixture of NOS and superglue might be overpowering - or is it UHU they use nowadays ?

Hmmmph, things keep moving on so fast.

Listen, been doing some more weight-saving thinking.

But now I'm really disappointed.

Did search for lightweight cupola for the dash but the least was around 2 tons.

Wanted a lighter bee-sting aerial - unfortunately picked on a wasp (Hey Hum, weight gain due to multiple plasters).

Getting rid of passenger airbag too - she ain't too happy about it though.

Bet all this is making Jason dead jealous he hasn't thought of these brill ultra-cheap mods and all the money I'm saving (specially being an accoutrement an all) (-:

Braking News -

Gained 20 mph today.

Closed my mouth and shut the window.

Still torn between Bimbos or Minters - but don't want to pad out this discussion too much.

And people moan about the 'Vs' threads..... :rotz:

Remove windscreen, and leave rear hatch open to improve air-flow.

Although the wearing of Biggles style goggles may be a neccesity.
