Current rear end look of the Mongrel

Featured Replies

Nothing on the back but a Ring sticker now. :D Removed the big sticker and the other badges last weekend, and the "DIESEL" badge decided to take some paint with it, so I need to get that strip resprayed again.... A bit mucky and a crap shot, but it gives an idea. I like the plainer look.

Reckon if you sprayed up the black of the rear lights to match the silver paintwork it'd look even smoooooooother...

It's a possibility.... Just the idea of splitting and rejoining the lights is scary though.

 I do have a couple of spray cans of diamond metallic paint.... + lacquer.

It looks a bit plain to me, but I like that ring sticker.

Ever thought about getting the chrome inside the rear lights sprayed black magic?

Those bits are the lens' Mil, so don't really want to touch them - they're more of a clear lens though, not actual chromey. Still might spray the black bits though. :D

I like "plain" - The previous stickers were a little OTT I think.

I think its better without the "Diesel" and "Av It" badges, but I quite like the big Briskoda one.

A more subtle black exterior Briskoda sticker will be appearing on the boot somewhere today though (;) Stu) just not sure which part of the boot it would be best on. I'm thinking (must be on paint)

1) below the numberplate in the area you grab to shut the boot

2) On the bumper itself just below the boot

3) Keep the a55 clean and stick them on the side somewhere....

I've got my old chrome ones you can have to play with if you like.

Hmmm - got any pics? :D I do kind of remember them. :D

Basically, what's black on our present ones is chrome on these. Should split easily with a Dremel or similar.

I think I would use some heat and try to soften the glue holding them togther, then re-attach with some kind of polyurethane gunk. :)

If you're happy enough to see hwat they're like? I could experiment on yours, then give you my current ones, or something like that?

You're welcome to them. I'll bring them to the Hope & Anchor.

Jason, looks much better now!

Smooth & understated is the way forward. :D

It's not as though there is anything actually to see after you accelerate hard away!

On a serious note- understated is deffo cool, and the lovely lights just hint at a touch of modding.....

I expect to see a major post with pics and all the details when you have finally hit the dead bottom of the slippery slope mate, where no-one has gone before!

Cheers:thumbup:

You can put them in the oven at approx 80 centigrade for about 5 to 10 mins , this will soften the glue enough so you can split them but not break the plastic. I have done this before on an another car, worked a treat, but was scary when peeling them apart!!!! I used silcaset as used in bathrooms.

Hope this helps

I like the clean bum :D

a blatantly nicked how-to regarding headlights, but I don't see how it's gonna be different for the rear lights:

Run around the edge of the lights with a Stanley knife cutting through the visible seal. Then I heated the area up with a hairdryer, bit by bit. Some people say don

I take it that's your show plate ? Cos it's not legal otherwise. ;)

Where can I get a 'ring' sticker from?
