dammit...

I pass this lot each morning and night at like 2mph so I gt a good look at the monaro on show...

But if I was paranoid about leaving mine parked up in sheffield, what would I be like with this, may as well just leave the keys on the table, save any aggro.

What you trying to say about Sheffield Colin :D

As for that......Looks like a Vectra with a Monaro interior and Monaro sytle body kit. Id take one of the old monaro's thanks

Yeah looks nice and surely goes fast but still won't go around corners properly! (It's a vauxhall after all........)

:sofahide:

That is absolutely gorgeous. And a stonking big V8 as well

I preferred the front end of the old Monaro... but the new ones not too bad. Just looks a bit american from the front.

Awesome. If I was going to spend £35k on a new car and didn't have to be conscious of mpg I'd have one. Have one in black and it would be subtle enough that you could park it in a car park without someone going out of their way to damage it.

Remind anyone of side profile of a Lotus Carlton?

You can get a very neat aftermarket exhaust for the Monaro. Has an Aston style flap half way down that diverts the flow when required - bypassing the rear box all together.

That doesn't look too bad. The nose is a bit funny and I don't like those vents behind the front wheels, but in black they'd not be too visible.

Be a good buy 18mths after launch when its

Wasn't the Lotus "Carlton" actually built on a Senator shell with a nosejob? If so, then I think the Monaro is based on the same tools.

It's a Holden ;)

Holden is to Oz as V@*xh@!! is to UK as Chevrolet is to USA.

Looks good to me, if it was a well built as VAG cars then I'd be interested. Shame about it being a vauxhall.

Holden is a car manufacterer in its own right. It is more like Saab is to GM, Volvo is to Ford.

If you sit in one and compare it to any other Vauxhall, you will be suprised.

Badge snobbery on a Skoda forum never fails to amuse me.

Hint - all 3 of the brands I cited are wholly owned by GM, and considered to be "national brands" in their home markets.

I could also have added Saab, Opel, Isuzu...

And I'm not snobbish about badges; I'm choosy about "cars that are rubbish to drive".

You've driven one I take it, or have experience of the old one?

Just curious.....

I've driven one of the old ones and I actually quite enjoyed it.

All I said was that Holden was a national GM brand. V@*xh@ll are capable of producing good cars too (ok the last good one I was in was a Y-plate Omega V6, and actually IMO the easiest way to sort out a good [for its day] V@*xh@ll is to check that it's RWD).

Well, whatever you way you phrase it with your odd spelling of Vauxhall, it is a rebadged HOLDEN.

Holden don't make vauxhalls, Vauxhall don't make Holdens. It is only a Vauxhall as a GM marketing ploy, as we here, you in particular it seems, don't know who Holden are.

I haven't driven one, but i've sat in a couple recently, and believe me, i couldn't tell if was "bad to drive" just from doing that ;). What i could tell however, was the fit and finish was every bit as good as my Skoda's, so using your logic, will be up to a Bugatti in build quality.

I suppose the VX220 is rubbish because its a vauxhall too?

Who doesn't know who Holden are? Me? If so think again; I've said nothing which would support that view!

I'm well aware of what a Holden Monaro is; just not convinced by the marketting logic that's supposed to make me associate it with a V@*xh@ll C0r$@.

Just out of interest, why do you have a Skoda?
