Featured Replies

Had a similar dilema last year and eventually caved in and bought a DVLA cheapo special. I like it and wouuld'nt want to part with it now but as a lot on here have pointed out, t's a personal thing so go for it if you want it

Heh I thought I was the only person sad enough to do that. Only have year of marriage though - it'll be a while before a 97 plate becomes available

It means something to us, is recognisable by people that know us, and means bugger all to anyone else. Which I like.

It also meant we had to have a brand new car rather than take the dealer's Y reg demo ;)

My plate was a present but means buggar all to anyone else,

The first letter is my husband's inital, the number is the age I was when we met and the last three letters are my intials:D

I like mine.Just makes the car feel more 'personal'.....daft as it sounds

Nicely discreet given that 'EC' is a Lancs plate code ;)

They are for *******.

HTH

:D

I have one

I personally wouldn't want one but as others have said, if you want one, get one.

Just don't mess about with the font/spacing. That really is very, very sad.

I have no intention mucking with the spacing btw.

Tosserish? :o

If the police have spotted you, they'll have your plate on the database anyway, so the identification of the car arguement is pointless! Anywhoo... I don;t hae one but Dad had got:

T11 MMM on the Landy, nice... seeing that his name is Tim! Just a tax free investment item...

i have been told by a dealer that a cheapie vrs plate on a vrs will help the cars re sale value,i am tempted i must admit:Das mine has no vrs badges on or owt

Well he would wouldn't he as when you come to px it he can give you a couple of quid for it and then cash the plate in and sell it on to the next mug ... sorry .... punter ;)

With the number going onto cars these days I can't really see it being a good investment either unless it's a real special plate so I'd not bother with my own money :D

I bought a VRS related plate as I, and a friend thought it'd be amusing. And it is. I think it looks kinda neat, too.

It wasn't a fortune, and I don't feel the need to spend

I brought my VRS and it already had a VRS plate on it.

I would not have paid any extra nor would I pay for a private plate but it came with the car

I've been thinking of getting a personlised plate for our car.

My dad has one for his car only cost him

I had one bought for me, so could not complain.

Steve Parrish the ex motorcycle racer /truck racer has one of the best to slip through the DVLA, its PEN 15.

As above if you want it what does it matter whjat everyone else thinks, after all it will be your plate!!!! M3's are for nobs but if i had the money i would snap one up!

lol,they are for nobs,but i would have one too,with a personal plate,super nob:rofl:

Of course we will all follow the guidelines from the DVLA :-

"Warning: If you intend purchasing a DVLA registration to misrepresent it on your number plate, we would rather you did not buy."

See that stopped you dead in your tracks didn't it eh? made you think twice eh?

i have one on mine and love it to bits lol

Try the dval website mate, you get to see it on say a vrs and make your own opinion.

Personal choice, I would check here to see if the one you want is, er, "****erish".

I had J8 WRX on my Scoob a long time ago (before the Impreza brand plummeted into the realms of Burberry and Musto), and now have a personal one on the VRs which I love!

I would never buy one

I have one and love it but mine is my name aswell :)

There is one I have my eye on, but I'm waiting for it to come up at a DVLA auction
