recommend me an air filter to go with my ebay CAI Kit

Featured Replies

Cotton Green would be the one for me, not got one on my Carbonio but had a panel filter before, they are not heavily oiled like the K&N ones so no damaged MAFs

I have just got one of those kits from a mate. Will be looking to stick my K&N on the bottom of it, hopefully sometime this week.

le tme know what you think of them, will be interesting to see.

Maybe a JR filter from Jabba... they also use a special oil from JR which when heated (in the oven! or with a hair dryer) bonds to the element of the filter and does deffinitely not damage the MAF...

Put my Flea bay CAI on at the weekend.

With a little pushing, the K&N went on nicely. As I have a plastic cover underneath the car, the cleaner and easier option seemed to be to remove the headlight as well as the battery tray. Allowed me to make sure that the filter was fitted properly, and feed it through attached.

Not the best fit into the mounts on the car, but have since learnt I should have used different hole, and that would have made a better fit. it's in now, and working, so that will do for now. From the inside of the car overall it is now quieter, as rather than just in front of the dash, everything is at the front of the car. Haven't heard it from outside yet. A pro and a con really. Will have to see what difference it makes.

The placebo effect makes me sure that it is better, or is that just the need to justify the money and the grazed knuckles.

Will have to see.

Looks good though.

When I had the Flea-bay CAI on the Octy vRs I ran the K&N without any problems, just lightly dab any excess oil off the filter with a clean piece of cotton befoer fitting.

I now run the ABD Racing CAI with a "LARGE" Green filter, and again no problems, just stick with a well known and respected filter manufacturer and you will have not have any problems.
