Disappearing Audi

Featured Replies

Today I witnessed a magical event. I looked in my rear view mirror to see an Audi A3 3.2 (confirmed later on) as close to my rear bumper as could be. We were on a dual carriage way having just exited a roundabout. I went from 2nd gear to 3rd and he was still there glued to my bumper, but as soon as I selected 4th gear, the Audi disappeared from view in my rear view mirror! How do these crafty germans do it? Was it some sort of cloaking device?:D

he was either chicken or that Mazda 6 MPS is truely an awesome bit of kit

I realise no one likes bragging on here but I was impressed with the straight line speed of the Mazda. As the engine loosens up it gets better every day. I still miss the Skud dearly but encounters like this just make me smile.

OMG! Len is that a brand new Octy vRS in your avatar? I recognised the VRM. Have you posted about it?

I'll PM you Val cheers

Ok

Am jealous. A mean machine, Roy. A Q car, no big noise, relatively modest looks, 4 wheel drive, goes like stink.

You musta really had a big smile when you went to pick this up.

And vRS Len - thanks for the offer, really. Just that the NWest crew are clamouring for me - that's if I can clear that one through the wife. TBH am much of a hermit these days, 18 yrs private hire (nights) so really really hate daytime driving, 5 yrs unemployed (55 next month - who mentioned ageism). But, offer appreciated - hope to meet you some day.

No worries m8. Will keep an eye out for you as I work in Manchester :)

Cool

Shame about the travel though (Live in Oldham, actually, was being tight-mouthed)

Like the motor

The Fab vRS we splashed out on is probably the last decent car we'll have - unemployed, age etc so we (I) decided it was time for a bit of fun. Oddly enough we were looking at Elegance etc - for alarm, non-plastic steering wheel - and then discovered the vRS was going for the same kind of money. Instantly my wife said "We'll have one of those".

Talk about gobsmacked.

What's work - if you don't mind ?

Production manager in the transport industry. Yes the Fab vRS is a nice motor -

the wife drives one and I get to play in it at times. I had a Fabia elegance as my

first Skoda and have not looked back since...

Expand please - intriguing.

So, how many miles do you have to travel to work - and is the Octy a diesel or petrol ?

And, black - must be a so an so to clean.

About 22 miles to work and running on petrol. If I need to get to work in a hurry

I take my Kawasaki ZZR1200 :)

This is my third black Skoda and I enjoy cleaning it - good job too as the wife's

car is also black....

So, you got an ultra slow Kwacker - hope I got that right.

Anyone'd think you were a speed merchant...........

Presume you've got the Full Monty regarding camera detection etc

>Enjoy cleaning

Yup, till I get to the alloys, tubby, get puffed - but a lot easier since I discovered microfibre wash mitt.

Wife blonde, slim, black 06 vRS - saw one on the way to Leeds Met, Sat before last in some roadworks - 10 miles or so out of Leeds.

Well, you got the blonde bit right :) She could have been near Leeds as she works all

over the country and we are off to Germany next month.

Hi, sorry, was away PMing PittvRS

Germany, went twice on penfriend exchange when I was at school. Impressed by cleanliness. Still speak some now, along with French and Russian (am half Ukranain half Roumanain, born in UK) - also half p**d (apologies).

Wife - we were both stuck in roadworks - didn't wave / acknowledge as don't know how Fab vRS owners feel. Saw one today, waved, got no response - wife told me off ! Hmmph.

What you doing up so late ? I've got (?) an excuse........

Currently at work

So what is your excuse for being up at this hour :)

A question with a question ...............

18 years of being a night bird.

So, what time do you finish, do you always work nights.........
