Do you see your old car about?

Featured Replies

A mate text me earlier today asking what the reg was of my old Octy, he thought he'd seen it on the road, but he hadn't.

This got me thinking, the dealer where I part ex'd the car is only about 1 1/2 miles from my house so it is conceivable that I'll see my old car out and about, has anyone on here seen cars they have sold and how did it make you feel?

Btw, this is a new possibility for me, nearly every previous car I owned ended up at a scrappy after I'd finished with it! :o

Edit :- It WAS my old car!

Yep......2 previous cars seen most days, a 1.3 Felicia pacific I bought from new and a 1.4 16 valve octy also bought from new. I had a long and Intresting converstion with the Octy owner only a few days ago...Very nice chap...:)

I still see my old 'T' and 'Y' plate Polos now and again.

But the whereabouts of my distinctive '52' Beetle is a mystery, as it was sold locally.

Er my old Octy went to Fullfat on here and he lives in Manc' now so that's a no and my Highanddry Coupe went to the scrap metal god after an incident wit ha Shogun

Wondered what had become of the Punto when I sold it in 2005,but had a sighting of it early December of last year in Hucknall travelling the other way, still looks good and now in care of one lady owner, so looks like its spending its days as a town run about, and also the new cylinder head gasket which I put in before swapping it is still holding. ;)

Is that a 52 - reg plate Beetle Mr G. or a 1952 Beetle?

I sold my old Citroen ZX for about

Still see my first new car around, Renault Clio 1.9D RL 93K.

Last time I spoke to the owner 2 yrs ago it had done 170,000m.

heres a pic of my current car and the car i built up from a bare shell to do sprints/hillclimbs , picture taken at a trackday at Oulton Park last year , it was a pleasant surprise seeing it again for the first time in over 5 years

I used to have an 'E' reg pug 309 quite a few years ago... traded it in in 1995, then saw it loads of times locally, then it disappeared and I presumed it was dead. BUT last time I was home, I saw it - and it's still going! was amazed lol...

Been a while since I saw any of my other cars tho

See my old pug 306 all the time as the guy who bought it lives on my route to work. The car I look forward to seeing occasionaly is my old merc 190. Full AMG kit and white. Stunning car. Still looks just as good too.

Cheers

In all the years of driving, the only car that I have sold and seen again

was an Escort - sold it to my brother.

I saw my old M reg Fiesta Si at the weekend and my sister often see's my old MK2 Cavalier when she drives to work.. and I see my R reg Vectra everytime I go to SWMBOs parents house.

Everytime I sell a car, the people seem to come from miles away so I've never seen an old car.

Checked this morning and my first ever car has been scrapped. I'd hoped to buy ti back one day and do it up as I could never afford to when I had it.:(

I feel the same about the MK2 Cavalier. I brought it from a friend and it was a proper 'work horse' type car, he / we used it for everything and he's / I've often thought about trying to buy it back and restoring it back to its former glory. I know its only a Cavalier, but IMO it was a great car and didn't look to shaby either.

Still see a number of mine about, I see the mondeo I sold a couple of months ago weekly.

Part exed my Fabia at skoda dealership but no sign of it since. It even had a Briskoda sticker on the front grill so would have thought whoever may have bought it might have given a mention on the forum. I wonder if the dealer removed the sticker??

Funnily enough I don't see mine about that much. Last seen by me on the back of a trailer heading toward the scrap metal merchant after I had crushed it with a swing shovel. :D:thumbup:

I normally spot old polo at the hospital, but I always want to buy it back :D

Regularly see a Fiesta 1.4 Zetec S that I sold in 1997 around. It is still in excellent condtion.

Recently saw a Neon I owned and sold in 2003 going well.

Also saw my old Senator about two years after selling it, looked dirty but was running well and being driven in the manner to which it was accustomed ie it overtook me.

Chris

one of my old cars was traded in at a dealer and sat there for nearly three years then got sold on to a young lady in the road next to mine so now lives about 75m away as the crow flies. the sierra i owned got sold to swmbo's nephew-in-law  and still going strong :)

other than that i can't think of any cars i've owned that i see about.
