What will 215 bhp give me?

Featured Replies

Hi Gang

Still to do 100 miles in the RS, but when run in i wondered what a REVO 215 BHP would give me...........CTR performance?

Cheers

Mike

prob ok but not as fast as 230+ look at all the tuners before you decide to remap. be careful of trial programs.

Mike[/quote']Mike, which remap option is that and what does it cost?

What it won't give you, is the sort of grin i had this afternoon after passing an Audi TT 225 at high speed and seeing the driver almost break his neck as he watched me go by :D :drive:

Don't fall for the "invisible" remap guff either, it's a load of old Horlicks.

It's even better passing a BMW 328 Coupe :D under acceleration off a roundabout.

Did my own research on prices. The basic REVO remap is

Denis speaks the truth ;)

Hate that +VAT mallarky. Quote inclusive prices or don't get my business :)

dont forget APR... their switchable maps can be ideal if you have more than one driver.. or want cruise at the same time...

.....or want security lockout, valet mode, ecu disabling etc. all good stuff, esp. the ecu disabling.

......and just to prove that we're not completely biased ;) ....how about the AmD One Click system?

Remap and standard code can be downloaded when ever you like. Not sure of the price but I think it was around

I must admit, if detectability was an issue, the One-Click is where i'd be looking...

Still that damn +VAT price though...

Whats the obd thing about? and the one click system aswell?!

OBD programming means they do not have to dismantal the ecu to solder another chip in they program the ecu through the dianostic port.

the one click is a modual they send too you with the map installed you plug it into diagnostic port and click the buttom wait about 2 min and now you have a remaped car can also be removed and reprogramed as often as you like.

APR currently offer an excellent range of options with their ECU upgrade BUT at a serious price, ie:

APR 1.0 Bar ECU upgrade including stock and standard programmes -

It is expensive undoubtedly. I think that if jabba continue to offer their's at such a good price and bring the OBD tuning on stream soon, others will start looking like far too much moolah.

must say though from a biased point of view, i think the APR switching is pretty nifty but more importantly, for a 'generic' map, it's a really, really good one.

What i want is 215 ish BHP, I know a RR re-map is better but i am not going to drive all the way down to Jabba. I want a system that allows me to swap one program for another. Thus if i need to service the RS than i can return the car to normal settings.

I will tell the insuance, but not skoda!

In that case you will want either APR or Revo one click or Revo SPS3. Both offer a way of getting back to standard.

mike,

i run APR and am very happy with it indeed. switches via the cruise control stalk, so no need for extra 'hardware' a la revo.

Or Jabba with the boost controller ;)

Or Jabba with the boost controller ;)

indeed, good point sir! :)

not *completely* stealthy though i think?

Huck,

Who cares about Stealth? :D

Its been said many many times before, if you're worried about warranty issues, leave it standard :)

You can remove the variable controller and plug in a jack plug which sets boost minimum/standard boost.

No one would be the wiser.

To late you've already done it. :(

The all seeing eye of Skoda! You just can't get away. :(

Don't forget superchips. I had mine superchipped b4 i sold it. Garage didn't want it chipped so went back to my dealer with my superchip key and had it programmed to the orginal in minutes. You would never tell it was chipped at all.
