Very satisfying

Featured Replies

let me set the scene....

approx 1230 today, northbound m40. just joined at uxbridge jct and accelerating up to about 70 in centre lane. looking to move to outside lane as traffic quite heavy, check mirrors, impreza flies past 100+, see gap move out, accelerate to 80ish. all of a sudden boyed up focus st, tints, silly blue lights, ch av behind wheel tailgating me, very badly, can barely see bottom of his windscreen. little tap on the brakes results in manual abuse/ headlight flashing. thinks: must be chasing impreza. stay in outside lane as nowhere else to go as traffic heavy. focus now has offside wheels on rumble strip and headlights on full beam, strongly resist standing on anchors and causing a pile up that will make the ten o'clock news.

look into distance, is that an unmarked police car? not sure, get closer. is it? yes it is! aha! start flashing headlights to attract his attention, focus boy still welded to my bumper and the abuse is still flying, slow down to 75. up alongside police car now and driver is interested, beep horn and point back over my shoulder, driver nods head, i continue with focus boy still using the rumble strips and not noticing mr plod who has just tucked in behind him. another mile or so of this and the road opens up, i pull over to centre lane, focus boy comes past carves in front of me, i brake heavy (just for effect!). mr plod come past, notice camera in windscreen that passenger is adjusting just before giving me thumbs up. focus boy and plod continue line astern still accelerating. move back to offside lane just in time to see focus boy slowing heavily, i pass and wave, focus boy continues over to hard shoulder with plod right behind and the blues in full effect. beautiful...

maybe there is a god.....

You could make a Hamlet advert out of that!

I think its called korma.....or is that karma ;-)

just what we like to see!

And once again, the clever/dumb balance is restored :D:rofl:

Chris

Nice result but two questions spring to mind,

1) How did you notice unmarked car from goodly distance?

2) Why hadn't unmarked plod been busy feeling collar of aforementioned impreza?

and one other thing, are you now gratefull to cahv boy, without him pi$$ing you off might you not have been going slightly faster when you passed plod;)

:D :D :D:thumbup:

i always keep a sharp eye, its my job! three aerials, gps receiver on roof and a flash of hi vis on rear headrest. also, i drive the same route three times a week, you get to know them! silver omega 53 plate for ref! ;)

ref 2nd question, not sure, was just crossing m40/m25 jct when i spotted him. its possible he had just joined from m25. glad he did'nt see him tho'!

as a little added extra a good friend is a copper for thames valley so i may get to find out if/what he got nicked for! he seems to think probably careless/dangerous driving.

some days life is just ace....

You see the Police have there uses sometimes.

Probably lucky you were not in one of your previous cars or the outcome might not have been as satisfying!

1 - 0 to the sensible Drivers.

thanks, that was one of the things i was most proud of! would have been so easy to just stand on 'em...

A good result there my friend, the ch@v in the Pocus must have been incandescent with rage to oversee your communication with mr plod.

Excellent stuff :hooray:

 quality thread , PMSL

There is Justice - Sometimes :)

Just goes to prove there really are more police out there than we all think! They are everywhere being really sneaky in plains.

I can also spot an unmarked from a mile off, so easy when you know what they tend to look like, though 1 or 2 throw me off guard.

:rofl::rofl:outstanding:D

Lets hope he learns a lesson from it

I totally agree with the feelings of satisfaction it must have given you. :D

Nice one mate

am i the only one thinking the guy posting this was in the wrong?...

for starters with him being a **** there's a good chance if he was speeding he was on his way to hospital with his 15year old pregnant girlfriend in the back in labour, or elizibeth duke could of announced a sale (another good reason to speed)...

very rare circumstance, glad it worked out like it did in all seriousness. Personally have no issue with people speeding on motorways, when was the last time you saw a report in the news saying someone was killed as a result of speeding in a hi-performance car (scoob etc) on a motorway? i personally have never seen it!... that said if im flying along at xxxmph the last thing id do is give a driver stick for doing 80, especially if the motorway is busy, different story though if the middle lane is empty.

WELL DONE LAD!
