Time to wire up the garage door opener then :D

Or time to drive at the speed limit? ;)

Yeah right

Yes - do. I can now confirm they work. Motorbike cop with a speed gun on Sunday night aimed one my way, which set off a high pitch noise in my car..... ;)

I've always said the first time I get caught by a scamera van will be the day before I buy something like that! :D:rofl:

Best to buy one before you get caught :)

Devil's advocate: False license plates on a rotating drum - I mean if you're going to break the law shouldn't you go 100% of the way???

very James Bond!

Why bother with the rotating drum? Just false plates should do nicely ;) In fact, what would be really neat would be license plates made of some kind of bright TFT screen which could display any licence plate

Chris

If you polish your plates enough, they actually become unreadable to most cameras. Any with flash, the flash will do the job for you, and digital it confuses the CCD.

There is a spray which does this too, but that is illegal to use if caught. Polish isn't ;)

Just get a set of Polish/Lithuanian/etc plates.

Basil, do you have Arabic plates out there?

Just been looking at them actually  (and no I haven't been caught as yet.........)

Probably going to treat myself to a navman f20 at the weekend and shift on the talex - fed up with trying to follow useless auto "that roundabout wasn't there" route on the odd journey's we make into unknown roads so mind's made up to finally get one! Next thing could well be a "door opener", although I don't generally break limits in built up areas just open roads where I don't see the problem providing the conditions are right etc.

Sorry state we are getting to in this country really.

Here's a bit of strange logic though - IF the "safety" cough, partnership's aim is to make us slow down then why do they not like a system that makes you do exactly that? Answer, cos they don't get any money from you slowing down

I found a parked up police car a great speeding deterrent when I was younger - bring back those days

hope you then turned it off so he could get a reading..... a few "non-reads" and your plate is reported, they come round without warning and take your car for examination.... being parking sensors however... you may get away with it ;)

Nothing wrong with Dave's garage door opener either, the mild side effect of such systems is unfortunate. :D

As long as you have a garage to go with the opener and you're laughing :D

A lot of these magic sprays have been tested with real cameras and most of them are cra.p and useless.

Either obey the speed limit or go fast enough to bend the laws of physics

Laser Park is a parking aid, which you use every time you park against other objects :)

Clearly, it is only a garage door opener...as Stu says with a side effect. One of its features so it doesn't ruin your garage door motor, is that it turns off after a few seconds of operation, and resets itself. I was stationary at the time, so must have been in the way of the signal. Pleased to know it works finally though. :D *cough - on the garage.

I do :D

I just can't be arsed to fit the device to the car since I took it off the Fabia

thing is all cameras need sites, all sites need a good line of site or signage.

So the bloody simple solution is when you see one, log it on your box of tricks and volia new hidey hole is now logged and alerted upon.

It's not cricket, but hen neither is the whole safey camera scheme, followed a panda today, tootling along 40mph into a 30...didn't slow till camera then sped up a little afterwards...

Soon to be stuck once I'd over tkaen said panda behind one of those 40mph everywhere, folks without a car in the world or an ability to respect danger zones aka 30's...

personally zero tollerance in 30's 50% in 40's and 75% in 50's and sod it darwin on the nsl's...oh and put all the 50's ack to 60 where you made them 50 to increase revenue.

I too brought a gps box after I thought I'd been done by a static camera...turns out it wasa chap flashing or empty one...300 quid worse off and no points. I've pretty much spotted cameraas as soon as it chirps up bar one day it going nuts on the M1 for laser, problem was I was doing 65...vfm there then :D
