Light Assist Retrofit

Featured Replies

Holy thread resurrection Batman!

Can anyone confirm the coding for CH/LH lights on pre-FL?

I have a factory rain and light sensor and auto lights. The CH function seems to be working fine, as per maxidot settings.

The LH function however, when turned on just has the lights coming on no matter what time of day it is, light or dark. It's as if the system isn't using the rain and light sensor to determine whether the lights should be on.

  • Sounds like the control unit is coded for daylight running. Quite a few new cars were by mistake at the factory.

  • Here is the wiring diagram.

  • I don't see a "arriving" heading or similar under my "Lights" menu... Been through everything but can't see it... Something missing perhaps?

I am soon to do this conversion on a pre FL MK2 Octavia when the auto switch arrives.

BCM = bulb control module? is that correct?

Where is it located please?

I have to add the extra wire.

BCM is Body Control Module.

Its usually under the dashboard on the driver's side. There'll be a 'fabric' type panel above the pedals. With that removed you should be able to see the BCM easier.

Thank you Carl.

This site is like acronym city but I am gradually working out what they all mean, keeps the grey matter active!

CH, LH, BCM, F/L, DMF, DPF, EGR, DRL, CC, etc etc!!!!
