Skoda Octavia in India

Featured Replies

I am the proud owner of a Skoda Octavia 2.0 (Ambiente) in Mumbai, India and very happy to be a member of the Skoda fraternity worldwide through BRISKODA.

Will deeply appreciate somebody suggesting where I can buy on the net lockable wheel lugs for my car as I have put a set of expensive 16" alloy wheel rims with Pirelli 6000 tyres.

Welcome Naresh.

Our first Indian member I believe. For the wheel nuts I would suggest you try your skoda dealer. Several companies make locking nuts, its just they tend to be european based. Mcgard springs to mind.

On another note, I would consider removing your telephone number from the sig. if only to avoid any unwanted calls.

Hello Manny,

I deeply appreciate your advice on the wheel lock nuts. Unfortunately the dealer in Mumbai, India is not able to help a whole lot on this matter.

It seems the Elegance model which comes with factory fitted 15" alloy wheel rims the lock nuts are provided. Would the Japanese brand Kyokugen wheel lock nuts work and if so which size should I order because I believe they come in two sizes 1.25 & 1.50. I have spent a lot money on the 16" wheel rims and Pirelli 6000 tyres and I feel fitting lock nuts would be a wise investment.

As regards removing my cell phone contact number from my signature to avoid nuisance calls, the advice is also very well received and corrective action is being taken by me.

Welcome to Briskoda

Hi Naresh and welcome to Briskoda! I have added India to the list of countries Briskoda has members in - bringing the number of countries to 47.

Naresh,

I am afraid I cant help you with regard to the required nuts, I am not familliar with the brand you mentioned. Are the new wheels standard skoda ones or from another manufacturer.

Lock nuts and alloy wheels are essential.

Manny:

The 16" alloy wheel rims are Skoda original having 7 spokes supplied by the Skoda dealer here at Mumbai.

I might also add that the wheel rims require 5 wheel nuts. These wheel rims have been imported into this country by Skoda India Limited.

Regards,

Naresh :finger:

Naresh, the Skoda part number for a set of anti-theft wheel bolts for the original 16" alloy wheels is 1U0 600 028. The bolt size is M14X1, 5X27 - whatever that means! If your dealer cannot order them from the Czech Skoda factory, there are 2 options you could try. JHM Butt in the UK sell anti-theft bolts for the Octavia and might be prepared to send overseas orders. Failing that Iberparts in Spain definitely send parts worldwide. Links to those two firms are below:

If you download the Octavia parts catalogue from JHM Butt, you will need to type in the password spiderman to access the catalogue.

Lock nuts and alloy wheels are essential.
